Blizzard has recently introduced a Hotfix for Diablo 4 Season 5 that addresses the issue of unintended damage being inflicted by multiple enemies.
Despite some initial setbacks, fans of Diablo 4 Season 5 have dubbed it the “Season of Infernal Bugs.”The release of Patch 1.5.1 and the Mother’s Blessing tie-in event faced some hiccups, which only fueled the allegations.
Fortunately, Blizzard has recently introduced the initial Hotfix for Patch 1.5.1, with their main focus being on reducing the strength of certain enemies and bosses who were experiencing issues with their damage output. Notably, the Desecrators in Diablo 4 Season 5’s Infernal Hordes have been addressed.
This specific mob had been playfully nicknamed the new Uber Lilith by players. However, it has been discovered that Desecrators simply required some adjustments, as did other endgame encounters.
Beast in Ice had some work done in this Diablo 4 Hotfix too.
The latest hotfix, released on August 26, 2024, for Patch 1.5.1 is significantly shorter than its predecessor, which had over 10,000 words. The changes made to Diablo 4 in this update are as follows:
- Fixed several issues where the following enemies were dealing more damage than intended
- Desecrator in Infernal Horde
- Beast in the Ice and summoned monsters during the encounter
- Hellborne
- Several enhancements have been made to improve performance and stability.
Although players are grateful for the fixes to Beast in Ice and Hellborne, the most satisfying change is the nerf to Desecrator. For weeks, players had been urging Blizzard to address the bug that made the enemy too powerful.
On the Diablo 4 Subreddit, users shared their experiences of being one-shot by enemies despite having multiple defensive skills equipped.
One player complained in a thread about the Desecrators, stating that they had just been defeated as a Druid with 85k HP, Earthen Bulwark active, and around 60% Damage Reduction while using the Unstoppable ability. They believed that it was a bug as the Desecrators were able to one-shot them with their projectiles regardless of their level. Another player also chimed in, adding that they had a feeling this issue would occur.
Thankfully, the previous troubles have come to an end and the updated Desecrators (at least for our sake) should now conduct themselves appropriately. Thus, the Infernal Hordes can rest easy once more… to some extent.
