Developers have released the patch notes for the upcoming Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR – Patch 1.5.0 – set to launch on Tuesday, June 25.
At the June 21 Campfire Chat, Diablo developers revealed that the PTR for Season 5 will commence on June 25 for PC users on BattleNet.
During the testing period, participants will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of adjustments, such as Tempering Recipes, fresh Uniques, and an innovative endgame event known as Infernal Hordes.
As is customary with significant updates, the Season 5 PTR will also include various balance adjustments tailored to each class.

Trick attacks refer to a type of deceptive maneuvers or strategies used to deceive or outsmart an opponent.
- When you land a Critical Strike on an enemy who is already Dazed, they will be Knocked Down for 0.5 seconds.
- Dazing or Stunning an enemy for 5 seconds will result in a 2% increase in both Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage, with a maximum limit of 12%.
Momentum
- The updated version now includes added visuals that indicate when the effect is ready.
- Following the movement of 12 meters, your subsequent Non-Basic attack will result in a 7% increase in damage.
- After moving 15 meters, your next Core or Ultimate attack will have a damage increase of 8%. This bonus will also apply to your Agility and Subterfuge Skills, with a 4% increase in damage. As long as the damage bonus remains, your attacks will be more powerful.

- Cutthroat Skills grant a stack of Momentum for 8 seconds when they hit an enemy who is Stunned, Dazed, or Frozen, or when they hit an enemy from behind. At 3 stacks of Momentum, you will experience a 20% increase in Damage Reduction, a 30% increase in Energy Regeneration, and a 15% increase in Movement Speed.
- Whenever a Cutthroat Skill is cast, you will receive a stack of Momentum. However, using a Non-Cutthroat Skill will result in the removal of a stack of Momentum. For each stack of Momentum in your possession, you will gain a 3% increase in Damage Reduction, Maximum Energy, Energy Regeneration, and Movement Speed, up to a maximum of 30%.
Mythical Characteristics
The Enshrouding Aspect is a unique feature.
- The previous effect allows for a free Dark Shroud shadow to be gained every 3 seconds while standing still. Each shadow provides a boost of 2.5-4.0% in Damage Reduction.

Final Bosses
- You no longer have to reset the dungeon in order to fight the same boss multiple times. After defeating them, the summoning Altar will reappear, allowing you to use additional resources to challenge them once more.
- The process of summoning Varshan now solely entails the use of Malignant Hearts. Trembling Hands, Blackened Femurs, and Gurgling Heads have been eliminated from the game.
- Instead of Rare items, Endgame Bosses will now drop additional gold.
Helltide and Whispers are two separate entities that are often mentioned together.
- We have successfully decreased the amount of time it takes to finish Whisper bounties. This means that during a Helltide, there will always be an adequate amount of Whispers available to earn 10 Grim Favors. The updated icons now match the consistency of other Whispers.
- The scaling of your Threat upon defeating Monsters now consistently increases with their health.
- We’re adjusting Baneful Heart drop rates as they were dropping too frequently to feel valuable.
- Chance to get one from a Tortured Gift starts at 13%, and increases each time you fail to get one. Once you are rewarded a Baneful Heart, the chance resets to 10%.
- Hellborne and the Helltide Assassin starts at 1% chance to drop a Heart, and also increases each time you fail to get one. It now resets to 2%.
- The Cull Demons Whisper Bounty has been updated to also include Fallen enemies, resulting in the replacement of the Cull Fallen Whisper Bounty with the Cull Cultists Whisper Bounty.
Rewards for Loot
- Players can now earn Resplendent Spark awards for defeating Tormented bosses individually in both Hardcore and non-Hardcore modes.
- Both Resplendent Sparks and Scattered Prisms will no longer be automatically collected. They can now be retrieved from the lost items Stash if they are accidentally left behind when they drop.

Druid

- Corrected a glitch where the Enhanced Poison Creeper tooltip did not contain complete information.

Rogue

- A fix was implemented to address the problem of Victimize’s damage multiplier being applied twice. To make up for this issue, a buff was given to Victimize, as previously mentioned.

- Addressed a problem where Vyr’s Mastery was affecting Non-Shock Skills.
- Corrected an error in Ice Armor’s tooltip that incorrectly implied that dealing damage would result in an increase in Barrier value.

- Resolved a problem where the calculation for the Aspect of the Crowded Sage was based on the character’s base Life instead of their Maximum Life.
- An issue was resolved where the bonus from the %Damage Stat was being applied twice to Damage over Time effects.
- Addressed a problem where Needleflare Aspect was dealing an excessive amount of damage to bosses when the player was being attacked by smaller enemies.
- Resolved a problem where the Elixir of Antivenin could simultaneously be in effect with other Elixirs.
- Resolved a problem where Evade was able to activate Yen’s Blessing.
- Addressed a problem where Elite Scorpion enemies equipped with the Teleporter Affix were not teleporting as intended.
- Addressed a problem in which the High Velocity Aspect was not limited to only Rogues.
- Resolved a problem where Items would vanish when multiple caches were opened simultaneously.
- An issue was resolved where Starlight was not functioning correctly with Overhealing effects.

- Fixed a problem where players were not provided with instructions on how to unlock Tempering if they missed picking up their first recipe. The quest now correctly directs players to obtain the free recipe.
- An issue was resolved where, in certain situations, Legendary materials were visible in the Lost Items Stash but could not be retrieved.
- Resolved a bug where certain tooltips, such as for Berserking, failed to accurately specify if their damage was additive or multiplicative.
- Multiple instances were fixed where the descriptions of Aspect tooltips had inconsistent information.
- An issue where Class restrictions were not displayed for numerous Unique Items has been resolved.
- An issue has been resolved where the Stablemaster menu allowed selection of incompatible Mount armors.

- Addressed a problem in which materials from the Malignant Burrow could be obtained during Season of the Malignant.
- Several enhancements have been made to improve performance, visuals, and stability.
