Diablo 4 is currently experiencing some remarkable Spiritborn builds, with one showcasing power equivalent to that of one million Barbarians.
The recent release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion has brought significant changes to Diablo 4, enhancing the overall gaming experience. While all players can benefit from the updated progression system, the Spiritborn class remains exclusive to those who purchase the DLC.
If the community focused less on the single-player elements of Diablo 4, there could be a compelling argument suggesting that this new class leans towards pay-to-win mechanics. Players have already unveiled builds inflicting over 100 trillion damage, but some have taken it a step further.
A Reddit user, ZebraSandwich4Lyf, recently showcased on the game’s subreddit their Spiritborn character dealing an astonishing 377 trillion damage, humorously dubbing it “perfectly normal damage numbers.” Some keen calculators in the comments concluded that the numbers are even more outrageous than they initially seemed.

One player expressed frustration, mentioning their Whirlwind Barbarian build only reaches “around 177k” damage. To make matters worse, another user presented calculations comparing this Barbarian’s output to that of the Spiritborn.
“If we assume that monsters gain a 10% health increase due to party scaling in the dungeon instead of tackling it solo, it would require 988,372 Barbarians dealing 177k each to match the contribution of that one Spiritborn,” the number-cruncher noted. Sure, we rounded up in the title, but why bother nitpicking at this stage?
It doesn’t end well for the disappointed Barbarian player. Another commenter shared a screenshot showcasing a Spiritborn character inflicting a mind-boggling 134 quadrillion damage. This figure is so massive that it’s hard to fathom, so here’s how it looks written out: 134,000,000,000,000,000.
For context, this damage equates to approximately 757 billion Whirlwind Barbarians’ output. The Spiritborn’s ability to generate such astronomical amounts of damage in Diablo 4 stems from a glitch with the Viscous Shield Paragon Node, which allows for limitless damage scaling.
It’s reasonable to predict that a nerf targeting this Node is forthcoming.
