Diablo Immortal’s Tempest class adds warrior priests with “elemental fury”

The upcoming class in Diablo Immortal, Tempest, focuses on dual-wielding fighters who are set to arrive in Sanctuary by the end of May.

The 2024 plans for Diablo Immortal included a spring update that would introduce the game’s eighth class. Blizzard stayed quiet about the new hero until they released a 2.5D cinematic announcement trailer on May 7.

Immortal’s newest class, known as Tempest, is made up of agile fighters who wield dual blades and possess the power to control elements such as wind and water. In the trailer, the narrator portrays them as a reincarnation of ancient history, summoned to combat the demonic forces of Sanctuary.

On Thursday, May 23, Blizzard will release Tempest in a free update, allowing players to personally utilize its powers.

Originating from the Cold Isles, the initial Tempests in the series are warrior priests who are expected to bring a new level of excitement to the gameplay of Diablo Immortal with their ability to unleash powerful “elemental fury”.

In a recent post on the Blizzard News website, developers announced their plans to host a deep dive on the new Tempest class. Although a date has not yet been announced, players can expect the class to be released soon.

In 2022, Diablo Immortal was released with six initial classes to choose from: Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. In July 2023, a seventh class, the Blood Knight, was added to the game, featuring powerful vampiric abilities.

The Tempest will be arriving in time for the addition of other fresh content, including new game modes and the Cursed Solstice event. The latter is set to go live sometime between June and July.
