Chainsaw Man chapter 175, titled Both Hands, was published on August 20, 2024, featuring the intense battle between Yoru, Katana Man, the Aging Devil, and Pochita. Despite the absence of dialogue throughout the entire chapter, numerous fans have pointed out peculiarities in Pochita’s combat techniques.
Despite previously engaging in a more chaotic battle against Makima and her army, in chapter 175, Pochita’s tactics were solely focused on severing the arms and hands of his opponents. The idea of hands has not yet been devoured and eliminated by Pochita, but his current strategy of targeting these body parts may be a precursor to him ultimately consuming the concept of hands.

Chainsaw Man’s Impact on the Concept of Hands
In chapter 175 of Chainsaw Man, it became clear that Pochita possesses immense power and is far superior to the devils he has encountered thus far. Despite facing a challenge from the Aging Devil and Yoshida’s octopus in chapter 173, Pochita easily defeated Katana Man, the Aging Devil, and Yoru in chapter 175.
Despite expectations from fans, the manner in which Pochita defeated his adversaries has caused speculation regarding whether he eliminated the idea of hands in this chapter.
Pochita took down three adversaries: Katana Man, Yoru, and the Aging Devil. As a result, Katana Man lost both arms and his head, the Aging Devil lost both arms, and Yoru was left with only one remaining arm.
The Hero of Hell has successfully erased concepts such as mouths, snow, bitterness, and octopus. However, his tactic of targeting his opponents’ hands appears to be a combat maneuver that is not influenced by his concept-erasing abilities.
The Hero of Hell’s typical fighting style consisted of using his chainsaws to dismember devils without any specific targeting. However, in this particular fight, Pochita’s tactics seemed to be influenced by Denji. It is possible that Pochita’s goal was to eliminate any potential threats to Denji.
Pochita may be deliberately going after devils who play a crucial role in communication in order to disrupt the Public Safety Department’s operations and prevent them from utilizing Denji. His precise targeting of their hands could be connected to Denji’s past trauma with Yoru/Asa and Katana Man, implying that Pochita is seeking to punish them without resorting to outright killing them.
The current condition of Katana Man is uncertain, however, based on his past ability to regenerate after being separated in Part 1 of the manga, it is likely that he will reappear in the upcoming chapters.
