Did Power Really Die In Chainsaw Man? Power’s Death Explained

Power, the beloved blood fiend from Chainsaw Man, quickly captured the hearts of the audience with her arrival. However, given Fujimoto’s tendency to inflict harm upon his characters, fans are cautious about becoming too attached.

Despite the fact that her sudden death greatly affected us, it was hard not to love Power because of her immense power. Looking back, Makima’s actions may seem understandable, but in order to explain why Power had to die and the possibility of her return, it’s important to start from the very beginning.

It is true that Power dies in Chainsaw Man. However, it should be noted that her death did not occur in chapter 81 as many people believe. Although Makima appeared to kill her with a finger gun, Power’s death as a fiend was not permanent as she was able to resurrect herself afterwards.

During the ultimate confrontation, Power sacrifices herself to protect Denji from Makima, resulting in her actual demise. Nevertheless, this is not the end for Power, as she strikes a deal with Denji, urging him to seek her out after her passing.

Why Did Makima Betray Power?

Despite Makima’s pivotal role in Power’s death, it was ultimately the culmination of the plot and preceding events. Makima’s primary objective was to manipulate the Chainsaw Devil, and every aspect of Denji’s life since she enlisted him was strategically orchestrated to weaken and control him.

After providing Denji with the best life he could have ever imagined, Makima cruelly stripped it all away. In the aftermath of Aki’s tragic death, which continues to devastate fans, Makima callously snatched away Denji’s closest friend on his birthday, right before his very eyes.

The Outcome Of Power’s Revival

In chapter 71, Power apologizes to Denji by offering her blood. This act results in Denji carrying a part of the Blood Devil’s essence within him. When the Control Devil arc begins, Pochita is able to form a contract with Power through this remaining essence, ultimately leading to Denji’s rescue.

Nayuta’s reincarnation serves as an example of how a devil or fiend’s death results in their return to Hell, followed by eventual reincarnation on Earth. However, their new form will not retain any memories from their past life, similar to Nayuta’s experience.

Despite the pain caused by Power’s death, we have learned to find solace in Fujimoto’s creations. The outcome of the story and the possibility of Power’s rebirth remain unknown.

Despite this, Denji remains resolute in his commitment to fulfill his promise of locating Power. Her blood still resides within him, potentially having significance later on in the narrative. It is possible that Denji may be able to detect the presence of a reincarnated Power.

While no plans have been solidified, the impact of Power’s absence on the storyline in Chainsaw Man Part 2 remains certain. As the plot progresses, we will discover how Fujimoto intends to address Power’s narrative.
