Did the Acolyte Tease the Introduction of the Knights of Ren?

The highly anticipated Star Wars series, The Acolyte, has been promised to delve into the origins of a dark event in Jedi history. However, fans have recently speculated that the focus may be on the Knights of Ren rather than The Sith.

The unexpected reveal of Mae’s master in the fifth episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte left fans astonished. And as if that wasn’t enough, the show then delivered what is now being praised as one of the most intense and dark moments in the Star Wars universe.

The most significant event in Episode 5 was the mention of the Sith, which appeared to connect The Master to the infamous Star Wars antagonists.

This coincides with the belief that The Acolyte would delve into the origins of the Sith, with numerous fans anticipating the introduction of Darth Plagueis.

Despite some fans believing that The Master is a Knight of Ren rather than a Sith, they have taken to social media to voice their opinions and label it as a possible red herring.

According to a tweet from a fan, “This is clearly an origin story for the Knights of Ren. Qimir states, ‘The Jedi, much like you would call me Sith,’ but he does not explicitly claim to be one.”

In the sequel trilogy, the Knights of Ren were first introduced as a group of enigmatic warriors with a strong connection to the Force. Among them was Kylo Ren, who had joined their ranks and was now protected by them in The Force Awakens.

Despite guidebooks and a tie-in comic providing some insight into the Knights of Ren, their origins have yet to be officially explored. It should be noted, however, that they do not adhere to traditional Sith practices, even though they possess lightsabers and are adept in the use of the Force.

The Acolyte Master bears a striking resemblance to several Knights of Ren we have encountered, all of whom were recognizable by their unique helmets and attire. Specifically, The Master’s appearance is almost identical to Ren, the knight that Ben Solo encounters in a prequel comic when he joins the group.

The association with the Knights of Ren could also provide an explanation for The Master’s test. In order to join their ranks, one must make a personal sacrifice or eliminate a deserving target. This could clarify his insistence on Mae killing a Jedi without any weapons.

Ever since his reveal in Episode 5 of The Acolyte, the enigma surrounding The Master has continued to deepen. Fans can expect to discover whether he is the first Knight of Ren or the originator of the Sith in the near future.
