Did Yuji Itadori Lose His Leg in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 258? Explained

As expected from Gege Akutami’s style, chapter 258 of Jujutsu Kaisen has brought disaster upon the Jujutsu High sorcerers. The previous chapter had Ryomen Sukuna revealing some unexpected truths, and it concluded with Yuji Itadori’s explosive awakening, as he successfully landed eight consecutive Black Flashes on the Demon King.

Despite what has been revealed in the spoilers for chapter 258, the outcome appears to be following the usual pattern of the final fight resembling a pendulum’s swing. With Yuji now missing his left foot, the momentum has seemingly shifted once again, putting the Demon King in a position of advantage.

The protagonist’s injury may hinder his capacity to battle against the King of Curses in the upcoming chapters.

The latest chapter, 258, contains spoilers as it reveals Yuji Itadori’s left foot being severed. The Demon King’s involvement in this event is not surprising, as his actions have been consistently cunning and expected. It is worth noting that the Demon King had previously exhausted his Domain Expansion during his fight against Gojo Satoru.

From then until the present, it appeared that he had successfully regained a portion of his strength. In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258, Sukuna reveals his Malevolent Shrine Domain, which maintains its power and reach despite the added burden of the Binding Vow.

In response and appreciation for his prior training, Yuji summons Simple Domain as a countermeasure. Due to Sukuna’s incomplete Domain, he can only maintain it for 99 seconds. Despite his best efforts, Yuji’s luck eventually runs out as the slashes overpower his Simple Domain and cleanly sever his left foot.

Is Another Comeback in Store?

As demonstrated in Jujutsu Kaisen, the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT) is a challenging but highly effective technique. Those sorcerers who possess the skill and proficiency to use it can heal any injury, including the regeneration of entire limbs. As shown in chapter 248, Yuji has acquired the ability to harness RCT.

In the previous chapter, Yuji demonstrated his growth by healing himself from Sukuna’s attack on his midsection. However, the intensity of the fight only increased from there. As his body began to slow down, Choso arrived and motivated him to use Blood Manipulation to regain his composure.

Similarly, Yuji is currently going through a similar experience as Gojo, where he has regained RCT after unleashing multiple Black Flashes. This could explain his ability to use consecutive Black Flashes and potentially heal his severed foot in time to face the upcoming Fire Arrow attack.

Concluding Thoughts

The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, 258, showcased a change in the battle’s tide, with Sukuna gaining the upper hand. This is a recurring pattern, as the Demon King always seems to find a solution to even the most challenging situations.

Despite his incomplete Domain, it is clear that even Yuji, with all his power, can still face a shortage of resources. While the loss of his left foot is a significant setback, his awakened state may allow him to continue fighting. Additionally, the presence of Maki and Choso on the battlefield adds to the team’s combat prowess.
