Dillon Danis’ Attorney Withdraws from Nina Agdal Defamation Lawsuit Over Non-Payment

Dillon Danis’ attorney has officially withdrawn from the defamation lawsuit initiated by Logan Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal. The lawyer cited unpaid fees as the primary reason for his departure from representing the MMA fighter.

In the lead-up to his anticipated bout with Logan Paul in October 2023, Dillon Danis actively engaged in social media antics aimed at provoking the YouTube sensation turned boxer.

What began as light-hearted jabs at Logan swiftly escalated to the posting of images featuring Agdal alongside various male celebrities—some authentic, while others were fabricated—in an attempt to suggest possible past relationships and intimate encounters.

Agdal subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against Danis just weeks later, which has become mired in the legal system for approximately a year, primarily due to multiple delays caused by Danis’s failure to appear in court.

On September 12, 2024, Danis’ attorney submitted a motion to withdraw from the case, stating “failure to comply with the terms of the Firm’s retainer agreement.”

The motion explained that “the retainer agreement required the Defendant to pay a retainer and to settle the firm’s monthly invoices within twenty (20) days to ensure that the retainer remained ‘evergreen.’”

“The Defendant has repeatedly failed to pay these invoices on time and has not maintained the retainer at the stipulated level. Additionally, the Defendant has been unresponsive to communications from counsel regarding Court Orders.”

“He only responded regarding these issues when I informed him of my intention to withdraw as counsel.”

Despite these challenges, Danis’ lawyer expressed a preference to continue representing him, noting that he “personally respects Mr. Danis” and finds the case intriguing. However, the firm has determined that he cannot remain due to non-payment of the retainer fees.

This development follows a court order requiring Danis to present the phone used for his social media posts, a request he has not fulfilled, claiming he cannot locate the device.

Though Danis has remained largely quiet about his MMA career since Agdal’s lawsuit, he has suggested he is gearing up for his next fight as of April 2024.

While he hasn’t disclosed his upcoming opponent, Mams Taylor tweeted on September 16 that he was expected to face Mike Perry in the inaugural Misfits MMA event.
