Press Preview Event for “Crypto Man”Unveils Emotional Moments
On January 6, the press preview for the highly anticipated film “Crypto Man,”directed by Hyun Hae-ri, took place at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu district. The event featured the director alongside an ensemble cast that included Ahn Woo-yeon, Min Sung-wook, Cha Jung-won, and So Hee-jung, who shared their insights and experiences related to the film.
A Glimpse into the Film’s Premise
“Crypto Man”explores the dramatic cryptocurrency crash that resulted in an astounding loss of approximately 50 trillion won. This film holds a poignant significance as it serves as the last project of Song Jae-rim, who sadly passed away in November of the previous year. In the movie, he portrayed Yang Do-hyun, a self-proclaimed business prodigy and the mastermind behind a cryptocurrency named MOMMY.
Director’s Fond Memories of Song Jae-rim
During the preview, Hyun Hae-ri became visibly emotional when recounting her experiences with Song Jae-rim. Through tears, she recounted, “I envisioned the character needing a mysterious persona. After conducting auditions, I selected him, and it became clear he possessed a profound understanding of cryptocurrency. I cherish the memory of our first conversation — I instantly thought, ‘He embodies Yang Do-hyun.’”
Moreover, she reflected on their collaborative journey: “As the film progressed, we engaged in many productive discussions. Initially, some misunderstood his demeanor, but he was a truly warm and humorous individual. I miss him dearly; it’s genuinely heartbreaking. How wonderful it would have been for him to join us today.”
