Disabling the Vignette Effect in Monster Hunter Wilds: A Step-by-Step Guide

Capcom’s latest offering, Monster Hunter Wilds, utilizes the advanced RE Engine, showcasing an expansive open world. However, players have reported varied performance across multiple platforms. Fortunately, PC users can optimize their experience through various adjustable settings.

One notable aspect of the game’s graphics, specifically the vignette effect, isn’t directly modifiable via the in-game menu. This feature, which darkens the edges of the screen, is enabled by default and some players may wish to disable it. Below is a comprehensive guide on how to turn off the vignette effect in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to Disable the Vignette Effect in Monster Hunter Wilds

The vignette effect has garnered mixed reactions among players. While it can create a more immersive atmosphere, not everyone appreciates its aesthetic. It would be advantageous for Capcom to provide an option to disable this feature natively. Thankfully, the REFramework tool developed by praydog offers a simple solution to this issue.

This adjustment can be made in any gameplay scene, allowing you to compare the visual effects in real-time. You may find that although you enjoy the original vignette effect, it can be fine-tuned using the brightness slider. After you’ve achieved your desired look, simply press the Ins key to conceal the REFramework interface.

Special thanks to praydog for developing this invaluable enhancement tool. The installation process is user-friendly and can also resolve ultrawide screen issues. It’s beneficial to regularly check their release page for updates that might further enhance your gaming experience.

If, at any point, you decide to remove the REFramework tool, simply delete the dinput8.dll file from your Monster Hunter Wilds installation folder.

For additional aesthetic improvements, consider reducing the overall blur and downloading the high-resolution texture pack, which can significantly elevate your visual experience.
