Disappearance of Popular Modern Warfare 3 Weapon Feature in Black Ops 6

It appears that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will eliminate a beloved feature from Modern Warfare 3 – the Aftermarket Parts (AMPs). This has left many players feeling uncertain.

When Modern Warfare 3 debuted last November, it introduced the Aftermarket Parts system, leading to mixed reactions among the Call of Duty community.

While some of the more challenging attachments were perceived as “pointless” initially, the sentiment hasn’t shifted. Entering a multiplayer match or Warzone and encountering foes equipped with Akimbo shotguns or the JAK Glassless Optic sight on their weapons is a common experience.

With the release of Black Ops 6 looming, fans have been introduced to various elements regarding multiplayer options and its synergy with Warzone. Curiously, there has been no mention of the Aftermarket Parts feature.

As highlighted by renowned CoD analyst

, it seems that AMPs are unlikely to make a comeback in the new installment. Instead, they may be substituted with more “basic” attachments influenced by the Operator Mods found in Black Ops 4.

This speculation was echoed in a tweet from Matt Scronce, the associate director for Black Ops 6. He mentioned, “We’ve got some fun stuff planned inspired by Operator Mods built into Gunsmith and Attachments,” in a post from early September.

Some players express disappointment regarding the potential removal of Aftermarket Parts, as the weekly challenges provided a consistent incentive to play.

One player commented, “Honestly, I enjoyed the AMP System. Logging in weekly to discover new unlocks was a blast. I may not utilize all of them, but it was a fun weekly task.”

Another noted, “The AMPs gave us a reason to engage with the game in the later seasons. Without that motivation, it will likely resemble the experiences found in Vanguard and Cold War back in the day.”

While there are concerns about balancing if weapons from both titles intermingle in Warzone with AMPs still retaining their influence, the community will have to wait for further developments to unfold.
