The reasons why LE SSERAFIM, a university student, is not attending any events during this school festival season were revealed.
During the months of April and May, multiple South Korean universities are hosting high school and college festivals. This has caused a frenzy among organizers as they work tirelessly to secure invitations for the most popular K-pop girl groups, including IVE, aespa, NMIXX, and NewJeans, to perform for the attending students.
Despite being one of the most popular fourth-gen girl groups, LE SSERAFIM has yet to attend any festival, which leaves fans wondering why.
On May 29, a post was uploaded on Nate Pann discussing the quintet, which has since gained over 205k views and 1k recommendations.
The OP questioned why the group is not seen at school festivals, remarking:
“They can’t go to college festivals by themselves. There are girl groups like NMIXX and (G)I-DLE who already finished their promotions but are still attending events, but the reason (LE SSERAFIM) couldn’t go was due to the worsening public opinion after their Coachella disaster.
And… they can’t sing live…they are idols that were never been seen before, really.”
During the discussion in the comment section, testimonies emerged explaining why the group had not attended events thus far. One person mentioned that the student body had not been receptive to LE SSERAFIM.
“I’m currently serving the student council in my current school. There were about two members who recommended LE SSERAFIM to sing, but they were immediately rejected because they were asked why would they sing if they couldn’t do it live.”
According to netters, another reason for students avoiding them was because of Eunchae’s controversial remark about high school students.
“After making fun of high school seniors, if they think about coming to college festivals, I’ll be shocked.”
Conversely, some students have stated that they extended an invitation to LE SSERAFIM, but were denied by their label, citing the group’s impending comeback.
“We invited LE SSERAFIM but they refused. I heard they declined because they were working on an album and had a busy schedule. But personally, I think they refused because they were scared that they would be compared to other idols due to their live singing controversy.”
In regards to the comeback, Source Music has confirmed this information and informed Xports News:
“We are working hard to prepare for a comeback.”
Additionally, fans stressed that the group is currently not in Korea, but is actively participating in activities in Japan, which explains their absence from university festivals.
