EA FC 25 is set to launch in early access on September 20, bringing a host of innovative features that every player should be aware of before getting started.
With each annual release of the EA Sports FC series, players can expect updates that enhance gameplay while keeping fans thrilled with fresh content.
This year, EA FC 25 shines a light on two standout features: RUSH and FC IQ. Additionally, various modes will see specific enhancements, tweaks, and improvements designed to refine the overall gaming experience. Below is a comprehensive list so you’re fully equipped for the game’s launch.
Ultimate Team
In Ultimate Team, players can create their dream squads featuring both current superstars and legendary icons, challenging others or playing solo in single-player mode.
A key highlight of FUT is the various challenges that allow players to earn rewards by opening card packs, which include random items such as player cards, stadium customization assets, kits, balls, and consumables.
Rush
The new 5v5 feature involves selecting an event in Ultimate Team, where each event comes with its own set of rules to add depth to the squad-building experience; winning matches will earn you Rush Points.
Event participation requirements are based on rarity, attributes, regions, leagues, or clubs, and joining them will expedite your progress toward fulfilling weekly Rush Objectives.
When entering the squad-building screen, you have 90 seconds to choose your players, with the rule that no duplicates can be on the same team, ensuring a diverse lineup.
Stadium & Match Experience
Many stadiums have been revamped for EA FC 25, including iconic venues like Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Villareal CF’s Estadio de la Cerámica, and Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park. Notably, River Plate’s Mâs Monumental and Sporting CP’s Estádio José Alvalade will be introduced for the first time.
New match broadcast sequences and presentation elements will provide deeper insights into lineup choices and other crucial team information, enhancing your overall gaming experience.
An exciting new stadium exclusive to FUT will debut, featuring larger capacity, upgraded locker rooms, tunnels, and extensive customization options for building your ideal ground.
Cosmetic Evolutions
Customization within Ultimate Team has always been a favorite among fans. In EA FC 25, players will have greater options with Cosmetic Evolutions.
This feature allows you to customize player items, incorporate animations, and even sound effects, adding visual flair through backgrounds, borders, and SFX.
Evolution Requirements
Previous iterations of evolutions in EA FC 24 had stringent entry conditions. However, FC 25 introduces a more flexible system, allowing the use of multiple players in each evolution.
Evolutions will cap certain Attributes, but if players meet or surpass these limits, they can still receive the upgrade, albeit reallocating the boost to a different Attribute.
SBC Storage
Duplicate Untradeable Players in Ultimate Team now come with their own storage solution within SBCs, eliminating the need to immediately discard them when obtained.
The SBC Storage can accommodate up to 100 Untradeable items, accessible through a new SBC Storage tab. Players utilizing the FC Companion App can also manage items directly from the app.
Friendlies & Contracts
EA has separated Live Friendlies and Rivals matchmaking, where Live Friendlies will now focus solely on player form, similar to FUT Champions. Wins and losses will impact matchmaking against opponents with comparable stats.
Having previously eliminated Fitness, EA FC 25 goes further by removing the need for players and managers to have contracts.
Division Rivals Improvements
A significant change in Division Rivals is the shift to a points-based reward system rather than wins, ensuring that player efforts are rewarded meaningfully. Points will be allocated as follows:
- Win: 3 points
- Draw: 1 point
- Lose: 0 points
Moreover, Seasonal Milestone rewards have been eliminated, the number of Checkpoints to move up in divisions is being decreased, and relegations will be reinstated.
Players will no longer start in Division 10; instead, they’ll begin in a Division reflecting their performance in EA FC 24.
Career Mode
Career Mode offers players two distinct paths in EA FC 25: one as a Player and the other as a Manager. In this beloved offline mode, you can navigate through multiple seasons and leagues in your quest for greatness.
Players can customize their avatars with various attributes, positions, playstyles, and more. Your performance will influence the offers you receive post-match as you aim for stardom.
As a manager, you will juggle team management while meeting board expectations, taking charge of scouts, recruitment, training, budgeting, and team performance.
Live Start Points
The Live Start Points feature connects players to their favorite teams by allowing them to experience real-world storylines from the 24/25 football season.
Both Player and Manager Careers will reflect real-time events from ten leagues and twelve cup competitions, allowing you to engage during any game week. This feature provides a taste of genuine competition, giving you the chance to influence outcomes with your play.
Live Start Points will consider current point tallies, goals, transfers, cup progresses, player forms, injuries, suspensions, and potential point deductions.
Women’s Teams
In a historic first, players can now manage careers in five major women’s football leagues: Barclays Women’s Super League, Arkema Premiere Ligue, National Women’s Soccer League, Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, Liga F, and Women’s Champions League.
Women’s Manager Career retains all features from the standard mode without significant gameplay changes, complemented with unique challenges specific to the women’s game. Players can also embark on their Player Career in women’s football.
Development Plans 2.0
The integration of Player Roles through FC IQ has introduced Role Growth, with each Role featuring specific Development Plans.
Players consistently enhancing their key Attributes will trigger Role Rating level-ups, boosting those Attributes’ potential and unlocking new stages of development. For instance, training as an Advanced Playmaker will accelerate the growth of key stats such as Vision and Long Pass.
Development Plans will also clarify player career stages, tagging them as Growth, Peak, or Retiring, an especially useful feature during the scouting phase in Manager Career.
Press Conferences & Morale
EA FC 25 revamps Press Conference inquiries to focus more on tactical decisions and the opponent’s strategies.
The morale system has also been enriched; should a player’s morale plummet, their satisfaction will decrease, negatively impacting their mental Attributes. Users will need to keep players content to avoid performance drops.
Youth Academy
EA FC 25 expands scouting capabilities, enabling scouts to search for promising talents in over 160 countries. Additionally, you can scout for up to four specific player positions, with each assignment tailored to particular roles.
Rush
Rush is now incorporated into Career Mode as part of the Youth Academy, where 5v5 matches will showcase young talents using their Overall Rating and Potential Rating for a better assessment of future performance.
These matches will occur bi-monthly and winning will significantly promote youth players’ growth, enhancing their Rating at a faster pace.
Young players will visually represent their youth, and over time, you can witness their physical growth, adding a realistic touch to the experience.
Customization
The EA Sports team has made adjustments to game settings based on player feedback, allowing for greater control over gameplay experiences.
Players seeking increased challenge can make transfer negotiations stricter, raise board expectations, slow training recovery rates, and more.
Player customization has been enhanced with Cranium Technology for more realistic avatar creations.
Menu Visuals, Match Intros & Social Media
To streamline the extensive Career Mode content, EA FC 25 introduces the Tasks List, an overview of pending actions for easy access.
Based on fan feedback, the game features authentic pre-match intros, complete with cinematic highlights, player entrances, and line-up reveals.
A new in-game Social Media platform allows users to follow updates on achievements, results, upcoming matches, transfers, and more, keeping track of news from clubs, leagues, players, fans, and outlets.
ICONs
With the rapid evolution of football, ICONs allow you to see how legendary figures like Beckham would fare in today’s game.
Players can select from some of football’s most iconic names to add to their Player Career, with available icons rotating to keep the experience fresh.
Player Origins
Introducing Origin Stories adds an exciting new dimension to Player Career by letting users choose from three unique paths, each with its advantages and challenges. These paths will shape the start of your career and present different opportunities:
- Great Expectations: Begin as a child prodigy from a renowned football lineage and prove your worth.
- Climb to the Top: Start from humble beginnings armed with talent and an unyielding dream.
- Return to Glory: Re-enter the game as a former star making a comeback post-injury.
You also have the option to create Custom Starts for a tailored experience.
Clubs
Clubs invites players to create a Virtual Pro Player to compete in online matches, striving for leaderboard supremacy alongside friends.
Customization options for your avatar include gender, height, weight, appearance, position, and style, allowing for a personalized gameplay experience while building your club and amassing fans.
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse serves as a social hub for connecting players and clubs.
Players can customize the Club Crest, Kits, Stadium bundles, and more to reflect team identities, providing an immersive experience akin to stepping into a real locker room.
Clubs Rush
Available in all game modes, Clubs Rush allows for solo or group matches, engaging with three other players (with the goalkeeper managed by AI) or enjoying the feature alone.
Progression occurs through different divisions based on your Rush Player Rank, which fluctuates based on match performance and earned Rank Points, with rewards for ascending the ranks. However, at season’s end, Rank Points reset partially.
Victory Points accrued from each match won will contribute to your position on the global Rush leaderboard.
Facilities
In line with enhancing the realism of Clubs mode, Facilities enable you to hire club staff, construct specialized training rooms, and more.
Upgradable Facilities will enhance Attributes for all club members, with higher levels unlocking additional PlayStyles or PlayStyles+ for the team, ensuring constant management of your club facility status.
However, you’ll need to manage a budget—growing club popularity results in higher fan counts and consequently, increased financial resources.
League Relegation
League relegation returns to Clubs mode, presenting a greater challenge this season, complemented by a new system to maintain engagement.
Newly introduced is a chance mechanism for clubs on entering a division, providing a buffer against relegation. Once chances are depleted, clubs face a Relegation Battle—an intense single match that decides divisional status.
Clubs will match against similar skill level opponents to ensure balance; winning secures divisional status and resets your chances.
Cosmetics, Customization & Club Store
In addition to realistic avatar creation via Cranium Technology, EA FC 25 offers an extensive selection of cosmetics in the Club Store, including hairstyles, headwear, facial hair, tattoos, boots, and additional accessories.
Unique enhancements for your stadiums can be achieved through new Stadium Bundles, Club Kits, Tifos, and Trophies, all purchased with Club Coins earned through gameplay.
Height, Matchmaking & More
In response to community feedback, EA Sports has made several key adjustments to Clubs mode, enhancing balance and overall gameplay.
Changes include a maximum height restriction for all Virtual Pros set at 6’5″ (195.58 cm). Goalkeepers now feature more accurate PlayStyles, matchmaking will prioritize clubs with similar Skill Ratings, and players can utilize a Quick Chat feature to send predefined messages during matches.
These are the comprehensive updates coming to EA FC 25’s game modes. While the top 50 player stats have been revealed, be sure to scout for hidden talents among the fastest players, the best loan options, and ultimate wonderkids to optimize your ideal team.
