Discover the Latest on Warzone’s Upcoming Avalon Map – Leaks, Teasers and Insider Insights

Verdansk is set to make a comeback in 2025, but it seems that Warzone has another massive map in the works – Avalon.

Rather than adding another battle royale map, the integration of Black Ops 6 introduces the highly anticipated Area 99 Resurgence map to join the beloved Verdansk in the upcoming Spring release. While nothing has been confirmed, hints and leaks within the game suggest that Avalon may be making an appearance.

All of the information we have on Warzone’s Avalon map, such as its expected release date, setting, and inclusion of classic maps, can be found here.

Avalon in Warzone: An Overview

Avalon, a Mediterranean region within the Call of Duty universe, serves as the setting for several maps in Black Ops 6. One of its islands hosts the beta’s training course area, while Skyline and the Strike map Stakeout are also located on Avalon. We anticipate its inclusion in the campaign as well.

Despite the lack of confirmation of Avalon being added as a complete map to Warzone, leaked images in August revealed the entire area.

When will Avalon arrive in Warzone?

According to Insider Gaming, the release of Avalon in Warzone is expected to coincide with the integration of CoD 2025. Although there is no official confirmation, it is likely to happen in November or December of 2025, just a few weeks after the game’s launch.

Despite the absence of any official confirmation, it is possible that Avalon has been completely abandoned and will not be introduced to Warzone. This is similar to the initial belief that the expansive Ural Mountains map from Cold War would be incorporated into the battle royale, but it was ultimately utilized for larger game modes and Outbreak instead.

Avalon Teasers

The initial teaser for the game debuted on Rebirth Island, revealing the name Avalon inside the submarine used for BO6 challenges. Additionally, a Post-it note with the name Avalon can be seen in the Calling Card reward.

In the official Black Ops 6 reveal, players noticed a map of a location named Avalon. Additionally, a rocket can be seen flying over a vast area in the same reveal, and by aligning the bridges, it becomes apparent that the rocket is passing over Avalon. This exposes a significantly larger area than what is displayed on the map.

If you enter the Training Course in the beta and go downstairs, you will come across this map again, along with several smaller maps that likely depict different parts of Avalon.

Avalon leaks

In August 2024, a pre-release version of Black Ops 6 was added to the PlayStation database, allowing those with jailbroken PS4s to gain access to it.

The majority of the beta was exposed through these leaks, however, players were also able to access Avalon. Even though it appeared to be incomplete without any intricacies, it was evident that the entire structure had been constructed. This is also how it was discovered that the Training Area is located on one of its islands.

The majority of the map consists of water, with the presence of POIs on interconnected islands. This means that there will likely be many battles occurring in the water as the circle shrinks.

Numerous iconic maps from Treyarch’s Call of Duty series, such as Outskirts from World at War, WMD and Hazard from Black Ops 1, Dig from Black Ops 2, and Hacienda from Black Ops 4, were discovered in Avalon.

It is speculated that Call of Duty 2025 will continue the Black Ops series, with reports of all the maps from Black Ops 2 being included, similar to the release of Modern Warfare 3 after Modern Warfare 2 in 2022 which brought back all of the 2009 maps.
