“Discover the Next BTS” – Billboard CEO’s Ambitious Plans Unveiled

As the 27th approaches, Billboard Korea’s official launch is highly anticipated by the industry due to its bold moves.

Celebrating their inauguration with the ‘Billboard K POWER 100′ event, Billboard Korea is determined to become a formidable presence in the K-pop industry. By utilizing their extensive knowledge in the realm of popular music, the organization is committed to unearthing talented artists who have the potential to follow in the footsteps of BTS.

To demonstrate this, the event taking place at Seoul’s Shilla Hotel’s Yeongbin Hall will showcase a substantial representation of top-level Billboard executives, such as CEO Mike Van and Editor-in-Chief Hannah Karp.

Mike Van, specifically, has a strong interest in the Korean market and has returned to Korea in just over 4 months. He is determined to provide substantial support to Billboard Korea and play an active role in facilitating the global growth of Korean artists. The ultimate objective is to generate avenues for K-pop artists, who have risen from the outskirts to become a focal point in the world of music, to pioneer new trends and collaborate with music industry experts across the globe.

Moreover, Luísa Sonza, a prominent artist from Brazil, will make her first visit to Korea to meet with K-music artists and producers. The event will also feature the attendance of top Asian stars such as Isyana Sarasvati, SB19, and BINI, further enhancing the global celebration.

Kim Yuna, Publisher of Billboard Korea, announced that the event on the 27th will celebrate almost a century of Korean popular music and showcase the influence of Korean music, particularly K-pop, on the international music scene. The yearly publication of the ‘K-POP Artist Directory’ in both Korean and English will serve as a platform for connecting Korean artists with the global music community.

Since its establishment in 1894 in New York, Billboard has been publishing popular music charts and has continued to be a significant measure of music trends globally, starting from the mid-1950s.
