The recent evolution in the manga series, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, has transitioned into a sci-fi realm highlighted by Kashin Koji’s predictive capabilities. Interestingly, it seems that creators Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto might have drawn inspiration from the iconic sci-fi universe of Star Wars when crafting this narrative.
While this idea may be hard for some fans to accept, a keen observer on Reddit has pointed out numerous indications that support this theory. Through this comparison, it can also be inferred that Boruto shares striking similarities with Anakin Skywalker from the Star Wars saga.

Boruto’s Possible Inspirations from Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars
A comment by Reddit user u/Large_Whereas_431 suggests that the narrative of Boruto draws themes from Star Wars. Both Kishimoto and Ikemoto have a known passion for science fiction, which is apparent in how the sequel emphasizes the role of advanced ninja tools.
Furthermore, after concluding his work on Naruto, Kishimoto ventured into a new series called Samurai 8, inspired by a futuristic samurai concept—a clear nod to the essence of Star Wars.
If this doesn’t convince fans, the last Naruto film titled Naruto: The Last also contained significant references to the Star Wars franchise. It showcased a formidable weapon named the Chakra Cannon, capable of obliterating entire planets, reminiscent of the Death Star.
In addition to these elements, it’s vital to highlight the series’ emphasis on clones. Much like the renowned Stormtroopers from Star Wars, comprised of DNA from the finest warriors, Boruto presents similar scenarios. For instance, Kashin Koji, a clone of Jiraiya, was created by Amado, and Orochimaru produced multiple clones of Mitsuki.
When examining the main character Boruto, several parallels can also be drawn to Anakin Skywalker. Both individuals initially possess everything, only to lose it all. While Anakin’s journey began as a slave, he quickly became a Jedi apprentice. Notably, both characters bear a scar over their right eye.
A clear parallel was also illustrated during the Ao Arc when Boruto confronted Ao. In this encounter, Boruto wielded a blue chakra blade, which shifted to red when Ao made contact—an element deeply rooted in the lore of Star Wars.
Interestingly, Boruto’s dynamic with Sarada Uchiha appears to mirror the relationship between Anakin and Padme. Just as Anakin concealed his romance with Padme, Boruto must also hide his interactions with Sarada to protect his life from potential threats in the Hidden Leaf Village.
Moreover, Boruto embodies an antagonist role akin to Anakin, while Sarada’s ambitions resonate with Padme’s political endeavors, including her aspiration to become Hokage. With such connections, one could speculate about a tragic fate awaiting Boruto, reminiscent of Anakin’s demise as Darth Vader.
