Disgruntled Players React to Juno Early Preview Causing Server Errors in Overwatch 2

Juno, the newest support hero in Overwatch 2, became available on July 19 during a free preview. However, players were unable to test her out due to the servers crashing instantly.

Ever since the reveal of Mauga at BlizzCon 2023, Overwatch 2 has been offering players the opportunity to test out new heroes before their official release. This allows Blizzard to gather data and make necessary balancing adjustments before the heroes are officially added to the game.

Prior to her debut, Juno was codenamed Space Ranger and is the most recent recipient of the free preview treatment. However, players were confused when they logged into the game and were met with constant server issues.

Fans expressed their frustration on social media about their inability to join games and even test out the new support character.

Despite Overwatch 2 and its Game Director Aaron Keller announcing the new hero’s release, fans responded with complaints about their inability to log in.

“One player complained about trying to enter the game for 15 minutes and even posted a screenshot of their game stuck in the queue.”

“With a photo of their game kicking them from the server, another person sarcastically commented that she was “super fun.”

Another person joked that Juno had been changed to Crowdstrike, making a reference to the well-known blue screen of death problem that was causing trouble for internet users.

Despite successfully entering the game, players will still have to queue up as support and hope for the chance to select her. Therefore, there are several obstacles that fans will have to overcome, even after gaining access to OW2.

Despite the growing number of complaints from players struggling to access the game, Blizzard has not yet addressed the issue. It remains uncertain whether this is due to a surge of users attempting to log in simultaneously or a different server-related issue.
