Dismissal of Fraud Lawsuit Against Logan Paul’s CryptoZoo Cites Insufficient Evidence

Logan Paul’s CryptoZoo is seeking for the dismissal of the class action lawsuit filed against them, citing insufficient evidence to prove that Paul was aware of the alleged scamming of their investors.

In August 2021, Logan unveiled the NFT project and guaranteed a completely immersive game to accompany the CryptoZoo tokens.

Despite never materializing, the game was still a topic of discussion among some individuals until December 2022 when Coffeezilla, a YouTube investigator, brought attention to the project’s alleged fraudulent nature through a series of videos.

Numerous individuals who had invested in the project started voicing their criticism towards Logan Paul, leading to the initiation of a class action lawsuit against the YouTuber and his project on February 2, 2023.

After a year of going back and forth, Logan finally called on September 3, 2024, to dismiss the lawsuit due to lack of evidence.

The statement advocating for the lawsuit to be dropped states that the allegations are unfounded and there is insufficient proof indicating that Logan had any intention to deceive CryptoZoo users.

“In summary, the allegations made by the Plaintiffs hold no merit as they do not meet the necessary federal pleading standards. There is a lack of factual evidence to support their claims that Mr. Paul had malicious intentions of defrauding CryptoZoo users. The project was initially created as a passion project, not as an investment opportunity or a fraudulent scheme targeting consumers.”

“The plaintiffs made the choice to gamble and unfortunately, they did not succeed. It is not reasonable for them to continue to pursue baseless and inadequate claims against Mr. Paul, considering their decision to invest in a project that was never intended to be an investment opportunity. The Court must dismiss the First Amended Complaint entirely and with prejudice.”

Since Coffeezilla’s 2022 video series about the project, there have been multiple lawsuits filed. One of these lawsuits was filed in July 2024 by Logan, who accused the YouTube investigator of repeatedly making false statements and defaming him for his involvement in the CryptoZoo blockchain project.
