The Disney Dreamlight Valley detectives are currently investigating to discover the true identity of the Mystery Gifter, and they have narrowed down the possible suspects to two potential candidates.
Ever since the release of the Dapper Delights update on August 21, players have reported receiving surprise gifts from select Villagers who claim to have received packages from an anonymous sender.
Since the game is currently in a lull between main storylines and the Content Roadmap for the remainder of 2024 is hinting at “a new mystery”to be revealed later in the year, it is natural for players to speculate that these peculiar gifts are related to upcoming developments.
Currently, two intriguing theories have been proposed by players regarding the identity of the Mystery Gifter. Either of these possibilities would bring a lot of excitement to the game.
One possible explanation suggested on the game’s subreddit is that Snow White is the one responsible for the mysterious gifts. The poster mentions that the gems and coal could be linked to the Seven Dwarves, who are known for their occupation as miners.

Moreover, the jewels sent to Merlin perfectly complement the traditional gown of the princess, while the toxic apple bears a striking resemblance to the skull-shaped boulder found on the shoreline – yet another enigma that players of Dreamlight Valley eagerly anticipate will be resolved in the near future.
Additionally, the theory is further supported by the temporary distribution of an unreleased dress resembling that of the Evil Queen to certain players, suggesting that there are plans for Snow White content in the future.
The Mysterious Gifter is believed by some players to be Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a character who has been hinted at for a potential future update.
According to a separate post on Reddit, Sally is known for her shyness and in the film, she even sends an anonymous gift to Jack Skellington.
“According to the poster, it appears that the Forgetting has erased all recollection of her friendship with the other villagers. Despite this, she still feels a strong desire to aid them and has chosen to do so in secrecy.”
This could also provide an explanation for why Mother Gothel was given coal, as one commenter pointed out, “who else gives coal besides Santa?”Additionally, the fact that Sally is from “Nightmare before Christmas”could further support this theory.
Despite Sally not having much of a connection with the other gifts, they are all items that are readily available in the Valley, making it plausible that she simply acquired them herself.
Despite not knowing the true identity of the Mysterious Gifter, it is evident that they have captured the attention of the Disney Dreamlight Valley community. This bodes well for the game as it nears its first anniversary since leaving early access and prepares for another year of exciting content.
