As part of the Carry Forward program, every weapon and operator skin from Modern Warfare 2 was accessible in MW3. Activision faced criticism regarding this integration, as players expressed dissatisfaction over the presence of “trash” guns that were rarely used.
Treyarch has chosen to take a different approach for Black Ops 6, stating that no weapons or operator skins from prior titles will be featured in Multiplayer. However, all MW2 and MW3 weaponry and previously purchased operator skins are set to be included in Warzone when the battle royale launches in BO6.
This left Double XP tokens as the final aspect to consider. Some players have been gathering Double Battle Pass, level, and Weapon level XP tokens across various titles, amassing a significant collection. While some users hoped they could save these tokens for BO6, Activision delivered disappointing news on that front.
Do MW3 & Warzone Double XP tokens carry forward to Black Ops 6?
Activision confirmed that all unused MW2 and MW3 XP tokens will only transfer to Warzone following the Black Ops 6 integration. XP tokens will not be carried over to Multiplayer or Zombies modes.
It is still advisable to hold onto Double XP tokens, as BO6 will feature cross-progression between multiplayer and Warzone. Activision has yet to reveal the exact timing for the battle royale integration, other than indicating a release window later this year.
XP Tokens are expected to be even more valuable in this upcoming title due to the return of the classic prestige system. Unlike prior entries in the series, there isn’t a seasonal level cap, allowing players to progress towards level 1000 at their own pace.
Reaching the highest rank for a Prestige unlocks rewards inspired by previous Black Ops games, encouraging players to ascend the ranks as quickly as possible.
