Does anyone get their throat ripped out in the Road House remake?

The Road House remake has been released, giving fans of the original the chance to find out the answer to the burning question on everyone’s mind – does anyone have their throat ripped out?

Patrick Swayze played the role of Dalton, a tough individual who was hired to work as a bouncer at the Double Deuce, a notorious Honky-Tonk bar, in the 1989 film Road House. His main objective was to bring about improvements and restore order to the establishment.

Despite not being included in our list of best fights in TV and Movies, the movie is packed with intense and savage fights as Dalton defeats every opponent, often leaving them severely injured.

Despite his fierce fighting skills, one contender, Jimmy Reno (Marshall Teague), was not fortunate enough to defeat Dalton in their moonlit lakeside battle. In a shocking and brutal move, Dalton ripped out Jimmy’s throat, ultimately killing him. This unexpected manoeuvre continues to be discussed by fans of the film even to this day. The question remains, will this infamous move make an appearance in the 2024 Road House?

Are there any throat ripping scenes in the Road House remake?

While discussing the famous brawl from the original film, Marshall Teague revealed to the Daily Mail that, other than the throat rip, his altercation with Patrick Swayze was genuine.

According to Teague, the fight scenes in the film are portrayed without holding back. He admits, “He kicked me in the eye and cracked one of my eye sockets with that spinning kick. So I busted his ribs.”

“The log I used to hit him across the ribs was not part of the planned script, I improvised it. I saw it lying on the beach and took the opportunity to strike him, causing him to grimace and fall. Patrick caught his breath and looked at me, acknowledging that we were now even. I responded, ‘we’re even, let’s continue.’ It was a memorable moment.”
