Does Bakugou Really Die in My Hero Academia?

The anime of My Hero Academia is currently in its seventh season and approaching its final saga, while the manga has already come to a close. Kohei Horikoshi’s exceptional work, which initially had a light-hearted tone, has now taken a darker turn as the League of Villains gains momentum. In this captivating story of My Hero Academia, which has shifted from comedic high school moments to emotional weekly events, Deku’s character development is closely connected to his ever-changing relationship with Bakugo Katsuki.

The transformation of Bakugo’s character, transitioning from a bully to a friend, highlights the complex development of characters in My Hero Academia. The heart of the show revolves around his personal journey, which is intertwined with his relationship with Deku. Bakugo May No Longer Be the Top Hero

The 11th episode of season 7 of My Hero Academia, titled “Light Fades to Rain,”was broadcasted on July 20, 2024. The episode featured Bakugo Katsuki’s intense battle against Tomura Shigaraki during the Paranormal Liberation War. During the fight, Bakugo experienced a quasi-Quirk Awakening and obtained the power of Cluster, which allowed him to amplify his abilities. With this newfound power, he was able to channel the full force of his explosive attacks into a single concentrated strike, which he could then unleash at close range.

Shigaraki was taken by surprise when he discovered that Bakugo’s Cluster was one of the few moves that could permanently harm his newly enhanced body, causing him to become enraged. In order to make the most of Cluster’s effectiveness, Shigaraki delivered a powerful punch to Bakugo’s chest as he approached for an attack, tearing his heart to pieces.

The recent turn of events has left everyone in shock and unable to come to terms with the new reality- Bakugo’s death.

Is Bakugo Really Deceased?

Indeed. Edgeshot, a Pro-Hero, swiftly intervenes upon realizing Bakugo’s predicament, providing a glimmer of hope. Acknowledging Bakugo’s crucial role in the battle against Shigaraki, the ninja hero selflessly offers to sacrifice himself in order to save Bakugo.

With the assistance of his Foldabody Quirk, Edgeshot uses his understanding of the human body to stretch himself to the brink of death and transform into a substitute heart for Bakugo, successfully reversing the hero’s demise.

Controversial Turn of Events

The unexpected turn of events sparked discussion among both the fictional characters and fans of My Hero Academia. Given Edgeshot’s anticipated sacrifice and the author’s tendency to avoid definitively killing off characters, it is highly improbable for Bakugo to meet his demise.
