Explaining the post-credit scene of the Haikyuu!! movie
The film Haikyuu!!: Battle at the Garbage Dump showcases Karasuno’s victory against Nekoma in their initial match at the Nationals, securing their place in the Quarter-Finals. This marked the end of the tournament for both teams and they parted ways, eagerly anticipating their next encounter in the following year.
The next day, Karasuno High eagerly anticipated their quarter-final match. After the credits, the anime shifted to a post-credit scene where Hinata Shouyo and Kageyama Tobio were seen watching the conclusion of a Round of 16 match. The victorious team would go on to face Karasuno High in the following round, and it was revealed to be Kamomedai High, led by the talented “Tiny Giant”Hoshiumi Kourai.
Immediately following the match, Hoshiumi Kourai approached Hinata and Kageyama to express his admiration for Hinata’s impressive performance against Inarizaki High and Nekoma High. He also inquired if the duo had been observing his match to assess their competition.
Despite Shouyo’s determination to face Hoshiumi in the quarter-final, the Kamomedai player confidently stated that their match would determine the true, new “Tiny Giant,”a title that both Hinata and Hoshiumi had been vying for. This post-credit scene perfectly set the stage for the climax of the anime series.
