With multiplayer-only games, having a full lobby is crucial for successful gameplay. Therefore, cross-platform compatibility is essential. It is a highly sought-after feature in many popular titles. So, does Killer Klowns From Outer Space offer cross-platform support? Let’s explore and discover the answer!
Can You Play Killer Klowns From Outer Space Cross-Platform?
During the Advance Access period, which is open to those who pre-order the asymmetrical multiplayer game, Killer Klowns From Outer Space offers cross-platform support only in Quickplay. Currently, it is not possible to invite friends from a different system to join your lobby.
Nevertheless, IllFonic, the developer, has announced their plans to enable cross-platform gaming between all compatible platforms, including Quickplay and Friend Invites, immediately upon the full release of the game with the help of an update. If you are able to wait until the official launch on June 4, you will be able to play with others on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
How Many Players Can Play Killer Klowns From Outer Space?
Killer Klowns From Outer Space is a horror game with an asymmetrical multiplayer mode, similar to titles such as Dead by Daylight, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th in terms of mechanics. However, unlike those games, KKFOS allows for 3 versus 7 matches, with a total of 10 players per game.
The match consists of three Klowns and seven Human Survivors, which may seem imbalanced in favor of the Klowns. However, this is not entirely true. Coming from outer space, the Klowns have access to a variety of unconventional weapons, including rayguns and popcorn bazookas, to combat the Humans in Crescent Cove.
Make sure to check your system requirements before attempting to play with players from different consoles on your PC. You don’t want to discover during a match that your computer can’t handle the horror game.
