Does the romance between Alya and Masachika Kuze in Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian end in a happy ending? Explained

The strong chemistry between Alisa Mikhailovna Kujo, also known as Alya, and Masachika Kuze remains the main focus of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings, a popular Russian anime. Despite the various complications introduced by the involvement of Maria and Yuki Suou in Masachika’s life, the dynamic between Alya and Masachika continues to captivate viewers.

Surprisingly, their dynamic shifted when Alya suddenly confessed her feelings for Masachika in Russian during episode 4. Despite not pursuing her confession, it was clear that she had developed romantic feelings for the protagonist.

Despite this, Masachika’s mind still drifted to his first love, a blonde-haired girl from his childhood. With such intricacies woven into the story, fans who primarily follow the anime may question whether Alya and Masachika ultimately end up together in the light novel. It should be noted that the light novel has yet to depict them as a couple.

Exploring the Relationship between Alya and Masachika in the Russian Novel Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings

Despite Alya’s confession of love in Russian (я тебя люблю: I Love You) in episode 4 of the anime, she and Masachika have not entered into a relationship yet in the light novel Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings. However, it was not a direct confession and she did not expect Masachika to return her feelings.

Instead, it was a result of an emotional outburst, when Masachika made a promise to stand by Alya’s side and support her in achieving her dream of becoming the next student council president. Unbeknownst to Alya, Masachika understood Russian, so her words were not a direct confession.

Upon hearing Alya’s words of love, Masachika’s confusion only grew. His mind immediately drifted back to memories of his childhood friend, with whom he had a close and unique connection. He was too caught up in his own inner turmoil to fully comprehend and acknowledge Alya’s feelings at the moment.

Despite this, Masachika eventually discovers Alya’s feelings for him in the light novels. In the volume centered around a fight, he realizes that Maria Mikhailovna Kujo, his childhood friend, is the same person with whom he shared a strong bond.

Despite Maria’s strong feelings and love for Masachika, she makes the difficult decision to put her sister’s happiness first. Knowing that her sister also has feelings for Masachika, Maria sacrifices her own emotions and advises him to consider Alya’s feelings. Essentially, she openly confesses to Masachika about her sister Alisa Mikhailovna Kujo’s true affections.

Despite being aware of Alya’s feelings for him, Masachika Kuze is still torn. His heart is divided between his lingering feelings for Maria and his deep affection for Alya.

As of now, the Russian light novel, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings, has not depicted Masachika confessing his feelings to Alya. However, in the eighth volume of the series, the silver-haired girl has come to the realization of her true feelings for the boy.

In the eighth volume’s fourth chapter, Alya is shown at the infirmary reminiscing about the conversation between Masachika and Ayano at the staircase. While listening in, Alya overheard Masachika expressing that Yuki Suou holds a special place in his heart.

Despite wanting to believe she misheard him, she quickly remembers the boy’s glance at Yuki while playing piano at the school festival. Alya is still unaware that Yuki Suou is Masachika’s sister. With a trembling voice, she whispers her love for Masachika Kuze, making sure no one hears her.

Alya comes to the realization that she cannot envision a future without Masachika by her side. The mere thought of him not being there causes a pang in her heart. Despite being fully aware of her feelings, she has yet to express them to him.

Despite this, in the eighth volume of the Russian light novel “Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings”, Alya has finally uncovered the fact that Yuki Suou is actually Masachika’s sister.

Despite ending on a cliffhanger, the volume did not reveal Alya’s reaction to the truth. This leaves readers wondering whether she will gather the courage to confess her true feelings to Masachika in the next volume.
