The Demon Slayer series is relatively short compared to other Shonen titles, with around 200 chapters and an ongoing anime adaptation. However, despite its brevity, the series boasts a comprehensive worldbuilding. It has established a well-defined power system and various combat elements, with the Demon Slayer Mark gaining significant importance in the current storyline.
The mark grants demon hunters the ability to reach their maximum potential, providing them with a significant advantage on the battlefield. However, only a small number of individuals have successfully activated it. To activate the mark, one must endure intense physical strain and fulfill specific requirements.
One inquiry that is often asked by fans is whether or not Zenitsu receives a Demon Slayer Mark. However, it can be confirmed that throughout the series, Zenitsu does not acquire a Demon Slayer Mark.

Does Zenitsu Acquire a Demon Slayer Mark? Examining His Most Remarkable Accomplishment in the Series
It was previously mentioned that Zenitsu does not acquire the Mark in the manga series. Despite this, he has accomplished remarkable feats that few can match.
Developing the Mark is a difficult feat to achieve. Among the current generation, the only individuals who have successfully developed the Marks are Tanjiro Kamado, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji, Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, and Giyu Tomioka. Additionally, Yoriichi Tsukiguni and Michikatsu Tsukiguni are also known to have developed the Marks.
Tanjiro’s accomplishment sets him apart as the sole non-Hashira of his generation to achieve this feat as a demon hunter.
Zenitsu is a highly skilled swordsman who single-handedly defeated an Upper Moon demon. In the Infinity Castle arc, we will witness his confrontation with his former upperclassman, Kaigaku. Kaigaku, who was once human, was forced to choose between death and becoming a demon after losing to Kokushibo in battle.
Despite Kaigaku’s cowardly nature, he still chose to become a demon. His mentor Jigoro, who had taught him the Thunder Breathing Technique, took his own life to repent for his wrongdoings. Kaigaku, now the new Upper Rank 6 demon, was faced by Zenitsu, who bravely fought against him even after losing consciousness.
It was a rare occurrence for Zenitsu Agatsuma to be fully awake and confront an Upper Moon demon head-on. Despite this, he managed to defeat the demon single-handedly, utilizing a new form that he had developed. In addition, Zenitsu played a crucial role in the final battle against Kibutsuji Muzan, alongside the other demon hunters.
About the Demon Slayer Mark
The Demon Slayer Mark is a symbol that manifests on a demon hunter who has endured a near-death experience, with a body temperature above 102 degrees Fahrenheit and a heart rate exceeding 200 beats per minute. This is typically accompanied by intense emotions, such as anger and frustration.
The Mark possesses a powerful resonance, enabling individuals to activate their unique Mark upon encountering the first person who successfully does so. However, possessing the Mark comes at a cost – demon hunters who bear it are fated to not live past the age of 25. The sole exception to this was Yoriichi Tsukiguni, the only demon hunter known to have been born with the Mark.
The Mark grants select individuals access to Transparent World, allowing them to see their opponent’s body as a transparent layer. This enables them to observe the flow of blood and every twitch of their opponent’s muscle fibers. Additionally, those who activate the Mark also gain a bright red-colored Nichirin blade that enhances the blade’s cutting prowess.
