Dominos starts tipping customers if they tip delivery drivers

Domino’s has recently announced a new promotion which offers customers the option to give tips to their delivery drivers.

Tipping at fast food restaurants has been a controversial topic for a while. In March, a patron reduced their tip at a popular chain after the waiter attempted to choose the amount for them. Similarly, a server gained attention online for instructing customers to “serve themselves”after they informed her that they would not be leaving a tip.

According to a study conducted by CouponBirds, it was discovered that 5% of Americans believe that tipping culture has become excessive. Additionally, 65% of those who engage in “guilt tipping”state that they do so to avoid uncomfortable interactions with wait staff and delivery drivers.

Despite the challenges, Domino’s has developed an ingenious resolution that benefits both their customers and delivery drivers.

Customers will be rewarded for tipping their delivery drivers

Under the new program, known as “You Tip, We Tip,”the company will provide customers with $3 coupons that are redeemable for one week whenever they tip their delivery driver $3 or more.

The promotion commenced on Monday, April 29th, and there is currently no specified end date.

In a company release, Domino’s Senior Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, Kate Trumbull, expressed appreciation for customers tipping their drivers for their excellent service since the company’s establishment in 1960. She also acknowledged the dedication of the drivers in delivering hot and delicious pizzas.

However, nowadays, it seems like there’s a tip screen everywhere you turn. The expectation to tip is present, even if no additional service is given. Therefore, we have chosen to turn things around and express our gratitude by returning the favor and tipping our customers.

In order to continue taking advantage of deals in the future, customers have the option to sign up for the Domino’s app.
