Pokemon Go boasts a variety of formidable creatures, but the highly sought-after Shadow Pokemon possess unparalleled strength, making them highly prized among players. And if you happen to come across a Shiny Shadow or one with exceptional stats, it is sure to be a hit with the community, as long as you refrain from altering its original form.
Unfortunately, many Pokemon Go players came to the realization too late that purification may not be the most effective strategy. This was exemplified in a Reddit post where the author posed a crucial question to the community, asking, “Does anyone have any regrets about purifying their Pokemon?”
The conversation continued as they asked fellow Pokemon Go players if they had any Pokemon that they regretted purifying for reasons such as aesthetic, competitive or functional purposes.

It was even more disheartening when they posted a picture of a purified Shiny Omanyte, a scarce Fossil Pokemon that would be incredibly difficult to come across in both its Shiny and Shadow variations simultaneously.
There were numerous others who had also made this type of error, as evidenced by the dozens of comments expressing their misery. These comments spoke of purified Pokemon losing their valuable Shadow Pokemon Attack bonus and unique appearance.
One commenter shared, “I enhanced my Shadow Gible’s 15-14-14 stats.”These numbers indicate the Pokemon’s stats, potentially resulting in a formidable Shadow Garchomp with boosted attacks. Another person expressed sympathy with the response, “Oh no.. I feel sorry for you.”
They remarked, “A few years ago, when I first began playing, I purified a Sneasel without realizing that shadow Weavile is considered one of the best ice attackers. Now, I’m tempted to transfer the perfect IV Weavile.”

Finally, another Trainer shared a personal anecdote about their lack of experience, recounting, “I managed to purify a shiny Pinsir at just level 14.”
Despite receiving some condolences, one Trainer took a different approach and used the opportunity to showcase their own catch by commenting, “Get flexed on”and sharing a Shiny Shadow Pinsir with the intimidating name ‘Baby Eater’.
Alternatively, you can attempt to catch a different powerful Pokémon during the upcoming Community Day event.
