A Dasher shared a “genius”hack for all delivery drivers working for the company, as dubbed by TikTok viewers.
Despite the flexibility of choosing delivery times being a significant benefit of being employed by DoorDash, TikToker ‘lom.simply’ recently uncovered another advantage of working as a driver for the company.
In August, Lom shared a viral TikTok that outlined her method for making money as a DoorDash driver with her followers.
Initially, she made a purchase on the app assuming that another driver would fulfill the order. Since she was not actively working at the moment, Lom patiently waited for some time, but the wait continued.
Despite being paid $11.75 an hour for her DoorDash job, Lom decided to pick up her Papa John’s Pizza herself due to the lengthy delivery time.
Lom ensured that she was logged in as a Dasher on her app and proceeded to select her order. She then drove to pick up her order, as she would for any other customer.

The TikToker earned money by acting as her own Dasher. Additionally, upon returning home with her food, she gave herself a 5-star rating.
Those who saw her “genius”hack were amazed by her cleverness and praised her for essentially getting a free meal.
“One person commented, “I love it when a plan comes together.”Another agreed, saying, “You’re on to something.”Both were referring to getting paid to go out for lunch.
Some other viewers also admitted to having a similar experience as delivery drivers for DoorDash and UberEats. One viewer wrote, “I did the same thing. After finishing my deliveries, I ordered Burger King, went outside the store, accepted my own order, picked it up, and went home.”
In April, another Dasher gained widespread attention for claiming to make more money than the bosses of those who had criticized them for not having a traditional job.
They mentioned that in addition to having control over their earnings while Dashing, they also have significantly lower taxes to pay at the end of the year, leading to a larger amount of money in their pockets.
