Doritos Launches Zero-Gravity Chips That are Out of This World

Doritos has recently released a variation of their cool ranch tortilla chips that are specifically designed to be enjoyed as a snack in any location, including outer space.

You may be familiar with space ice cream, but have you ever considered a savory snack as well?

Thanks to Doritos, snacking on the moon is now a feasible option, as they have created a chip that can withstand the conditions of being taken into orbit.

The unique Doritos mini Cool Ranch Zero Gravity flavored tortilla chips are only available in limited quantities and are packaged in a sleek blue tube resembling a spaceship. They are specially crafted for consumption during weightlessness in space.

Additionally, these mini-sized ranch dust preventers not only keep the ranch dust from scattering, but they can also be easily consumed in one bite without the fear of crumbs dispersing around you.

The chips themselves will also be sent to space as they are scheduled to accompany the astronauts on Elon Musk’s SpaceX mission Polaris Dawn.

Polaris Dawn is set to launch four private citizens into orbit around Earth aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft for five days. During this time, a range of experiments will be carried out, including the first-ever commercial spacewalk.

Despite not being able to go into space, there will still be opportunities for some earthlings to experience the taste of these extraordinary snacks.

To be eligible for a chance to receive the chips, simply make a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital, a charity that has received a significant contribution from Doritos to support their search for medical treatments.

The chips are packaged in space-approved tins for the flight, resembling mints tins. On Earth, they are packaged similarly to the already existing mini tins on the market.

In addition, the tin has a unique enhancement. It is equipped with glow-in-the-dark elements, creating a space-like sensation similar to the stars on your bedroom ceiling.

In addition to this exciting snack release, there is another one on the horizon. Oreo and Coca-Cola have collaborated to create a soda that tastes like a cookie, as well as a cookie that tastes like a soda.
