Downloading and Using Blueprints in Satisfactory: A Complete Guide

Want to take your Satisfactory creations to the next level? Here’s how you can download community-made blueprints and utilize them in the game.

In the expansive industrial world of Satisfactory, players are engaged in creating increasingly complex facilities to automate production lines. Among the various tools that enhance gameplay, blueprints are essential for boosting efficiency and creativity.

Blueprints are essentially saved configurations of machinery, conveyor belts, and other structures. They allow players to preserve specific setups that can later be recreated in different locations. Additionally, players can create and share blueprints, which can be imported into the game for quickly establishing elaborate systems without manually placing each component.

If you’re looking to save time and elevate your creations, here’s how to download and utilize blueprints.

How to Download Blueprints

Users often share blueprints on platforms like Satisfactory Calculator, Ficsit.app, and Reddit forums. These sites typically categorize blueprints based on their function.

Download SBP files to use in Satisfactory for Blueprints.

However, we recommend Satisfactory Calculator as an excellent source featuring a vast library of blueprints ranging from large power plants to manufacturing systems and particle accelerators.

Visit the website, navigate to the Blueprints page, and select your desired Blueprint.

  • Blueprints are composed of two separate files:
    • Blueprint Module (.sbp) – Contains the Blueprint layout/design information.
    • Blueprint Config File (.sbpcfg) – Holds information regarding:
      • Blueprint Description.
      • Icon used.
      • Icon Color used.

Once you’re on the Blueprint page, choose Download SBP and Download SBP Config files. The Blueprint files will be saved to your drive for in-game use.

How to Use Blueprints

Once the Blueprint Designer is ready, follow these steps:

  1. Build any structure in-game and save that Blueprint.
  2. Exit the game and navigate to the game directory where Blueprints are saved.
  3. You’ll find Blueprints in: C Drive->Users->{YourUserName}->AppData->Local->FactoryGame->Saved->SaveGames->blueprints->{SESSION NAME}
  4. Place your downloaded Blueprint SBP and SBP Config files into this folder.
  5. Start Satisfactory and load the session where you saved the Blueprint.
  6. Go to your Blueprint Designer and interact with it to open the Blueprint Menu.
  7. Select Load Blueprint.
  8. Your downloaded Blueprint file should appear there.
  9. Select the file and watch your creation construct in the Blueprint Designer Area.

Keep in mind that not all blueprints will fit your specific needs exactly. Feel free to modify them to better align with your current layout. Always ensure that the blueprint is compatible with your game version and the Blueprint Designer size.

How to Construct a Blueprint Designer

To build a Blueprint Designer, make sure you’ve completed the Tier 4 – FICSIT Blueprints milestone. Once achieved, you can construct the Blueprint Designer using the Builder in the Special Tab.

Here are the materials needed to build a Blueprint Designer:

  • 15 Modular Frame
  • 25 Cable
  • 100 Concrete
  • 100 Steel Beam

After gathering your materials, launch the Builder and select any of the designers from Category 3, FICSIT Blueprint Designers, in the Special menu. Position the machine on flat terrain without obstacles.

Once installed, the Blueprint Designer will be operational in your world. You can now create your own Blueprints or utilize downloadable ones to plan your builds.

Remember that resources placed outside the Blueprint Designer cannot be used within its area, such as Power Lines or Conveyor Belts, as structures in this zone are conceptual and not fully functional for progress. It’s merely a testing space for your projects.
