Dr Disrespect has made a notable comeback from his streaming hiatus two months after acknowledging inappropriate messaging with a minor, achieving a remarkable peak viewership record of over 200k.
Four years post-ban, Dr Disrespect disclosed on June 25, 2024, that he was permanently suspended from Twitch for inappropriately messaging a minor via the site’s whisper function.
As a result, he was dismissed from his position at Midnight Society, faced demonetization on YouTube, and many brands severed their connections with him.
Dr Disrespect announced plans for an extended break alongside his statement and returned to YouTube streaming on September 6, 2024, where his audience numbers soared.
He scheduled the stream on YouTube just an hour before going live, creating a waiting room that started with a few thousand viewers and peaked at 223,460, thereby setting a new record for his channel.
Viewership remained strong while Dr Disrespect addressed allegations against him, alleging that former Twitch staff member Cody Conners and others orchestrated an “attack”against him.
However, once he shifted the conversation away from Twitch and began playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, his viewership fell to just over 110k.
Despite the drop, Dr Disrespect’s record-breaking stream still far surpassed his viewer numbers from June 2024, where his peak viewership only reached 35,800 with an average of 26,613, according to Streams Charts.
While the stream was undeniably a hit among netizens worldwide, it still lags behind the top 20 most-viewed YouTube livestreams.
The last spot in this ranking is held by musicians Sandy & Junior with a peak viewership exceeding 2.3 million, with the all-time highest view count attributed to ISRO’s broadcast of the Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover launch.
