Despite his previous controversies, popular streamer Dr Disrespect has once again quietly modified his social media profiles in preparation for his comeback to creating content.
In June 2024, individuals who previously worked at Twitch revealed that the ban of Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, from the platform in 2020 was due to allegations of him sending inappropriate direct messages to a minor.
In a now-deleted tweet, Doc ultimately admitted to these accusations, revealing his plans to take a prolonged break from streaming and spend time with his loved ones.
After several weeks, the streamer began to explore the world of social media by implementing a series of modifications to his X account.
On August 21, Dr Disrespect updated his profile picture and header image on X to feature photos of himself with his brand’s theme. This seems to indicate that he is now actively preparing for his return.
Dr Disrespect made another cryptic change.
This is in continuation of a series of minor modifications made to his X account. Initially, he customized his header image to feature a fishing bobber with his logo amidst a turbulent ocean.
After that, he shared a picture of himself seated at a chess table with his opponent using checkers pieces. He proceeded to verbally attack users who mentioned his scandal in the comments. However, that was not the end of it.
After a week had passed, he removed his confession from X and continued to emphasize his plans to resume streaming, stating, “We will return shortly”and promising that there would be “much to discuss.”
Despite his return, it is uncertain where Doc will livestream as numerous companies have terminated their partnerships with him following his admission of the allegations. Although he has not been completely banned from YouTube, his channel has been demonetized, giving him little incentive to continue broadcasting on the platform.
Dr Disrespect has promised to return.
Despite the ongoing situation, Kick has made it clear that they will not be taking any preemptive action to ban Dr Disrespect. In fact, they even went as far as to offer him a $10M annual contract to join their site before the reason for his Twitch ban became public. However, Dr Disrespect declined the offer, stating that he believed he was worth $50M instead.
