Dragon Ball Daima Sparks Controversy with New Character Designs

Dragon Ball Daima has recently unveiled new character designs, causing a division among fans as they await the anime’s release.

Dragon Ball is a highly acclaimed anime and manga series that has gained immense popularity worldwide. In addition to numerous spin-offs and films, the franchise’s upcoming release is a highly anticipated anime adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s manga, Dragon Ball Daima.

The focus of the story is on Goku and Kaiōshin, who are transformed into children by a demon. They are now faced with the challenge of finding a way to revert back to their adult forms. This task proves to be quite difficult as the villains have become more powerful than ever before.

Although there is no official release date yet for the series, it is scheduled to begin airing in October 2024. The revamped character designs, featuring Gomah, Masked Majin, Glorio, Goku, Supreme Kai, Vegeta, and Piccolo, have also been unveiled.

One fan expresses their thoughts on a new anime by saying, “While I am a big fan of Toriyama’s work, I find myself unable to enjoy this particular series due to its unappealing character designs and chibi animation style. I also do not want to feel obligated to watch it. Additionally, I have other shows I am looking forward to, such as Bleach Blood War Part 3 and Arifureta Season 3.”

“According to another individual, they would have preferred for Goku’s hair to be less true to the original design and for the shine to be removed, as it gives it a bubble gum-like appearance. Despite this, they are still eagerly anticipating the show.”

One user commented, stating that the masked character is most likely Panji and adding that the reveal of the new villain’s name and design was the most intriguing aspect.

Despite the dissatisfaction of some fans with the new design, others are content with the update.

A Twitter user expressed their happiness about the new Dragon Ball release, stating that no negative comments from any online trolls would ruin their enjoyment of it. They encouraged others to not let negativity bring them down and to instead enjoy the release on their own.
