Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Pre-Orders Surpass Black Ops 6 as Anticipation Grows

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has generated such immense excitement among fans that pre-orders across all three editions are surpassing those of major titles, including Black Ops 6, particularly on certain gaming platforms.

After a decade-long hiatus, the iconic Budokai Tenkaichi series is making a comeback, with Dragon Ball Sparking Zero poised to rejuvenate the franchise through a vast roster of characters, diverse game modes, arenas, and much more.

Dragon Ball, widely regarded as one of the most beloved anime series, has consistently found success with its video game adaptations. However, the anticipation surrounding Sparking Zero is so astonishing that its pre-orders are even outpacing those of Activision’s Black Ops 6.

In spite of the buzz created by Black Ops 6, which has introduced dramatic changes to the Call of Duty franchise with its revamped gameplay mechanics, new features, and overhauled Zombies mode, fans appear to be much more enthusiastic about returning to the Dragon Ball universe.

The excitement surrounding pre-orders has only fueled more enthusiasm for Sparking Zero, with various X users reacting and sharing their thoughts about the news that the game is outpacing Black Ops 6 for pre-orders.

One user remarked, “All editions are insane; this game will actually achieve monumental success,” while another added, “This is a major win for Dragon Ball and anime-based games.”

Sparking Zero has entered the top 5 for best-selling games on Steam

Sparking Zero is also leading in pre-orders on Steam, currently claiming the third position among the top 100 selling games in the US on Steam, climbing seven spots from the previous week.

In contrast, Black Ops 6 is not even within the top 50, sitting at number 62.

Since Black Ops 6 will be available for free to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, it complicates comparisons regarding their performance on Microsoft’s platform.

While Dragon Ball games have traditionally been successful, other popular anime franchises, aside from the obvious example of Pokémon, have struggled to generate similar levels of anticipation.

The massive interest in Sparking Zero, juxtaposed with the underperformance of the new Call of Duty title, signifies a notable shift in the gaming landscape and may pave the way for other anime franchises to explore gaming opportunities.

For those who haven’t yet pre-ordered Sparking Zero, the game is set to launch on October 11, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
