While fans were recently able to discover chapter 103 of Dragon Ball Super, it seems that the manga will now take an indefinite break.
Dragon Ball Super follows the adventures of Goku and his friends sometime after Boo’s defeat, thus following on from Dragon Ball Z. Earth has been peaceful since then, but Goku is bored with his mundane life. The story then picks up as it introduces several deities and even new transformations for our famous Saiyans.
Dragon Ball Super recently released its chapter 103 with a moving title: “A Legacy for the Future” . A title which not only refers to Goku and his son Gohan, but also to Toyotarō, who will take over the reins of the manga after the death of Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball saga.
And while some were wondering about the future of Dragon Ball Super following the disappearance of Toriyama, fans briefly believed that the manga would continue its momentum, until they learned that the work would finally entering a break of indefinite duration.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 104 is postponed
It was on the MANGA Plus website, the online reading platform owned by Shūeisha, that we learned that the Dragon Ball Super manga was now on hiatus for an indefinite period. A decision taken following the death of the famous Toriyama at the beginning of March.
News which is not that surprising, because just after the release of chapter 103, available since March 20, 2024 on the platform, it had already been indicated that a break was going to take place. Indeed, the site then revealed that the release date of the next chapter of Dragon Ball Super was normally scheduled for May 20.
But the date in question has since been removed, with MANGA Plus simply indicating that Dragon Ball Super is “on pause” and that we must “wait for its resumption” . A 2-month break which therefore turned into an indefinite break, which means that to date we have no official date concerning the return of the manga.
