A subsequent trailer premiered during the August 2024 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, revealing that players could customize character appearances and voices, as well as introducing a new Monster Wrangler vocation.

Story & Gameplay of Dragon Quest III HD-2D
In Dragon Quest III HD-2D, players follow the journey of an unnamed hero, the child of the legendary warrior Ortega, who perished while battling the formidable monster Baramos. On their sixteenth birthday, the protagonist takes on their father’s quest to defeat Baramos once and for all.
This game features a comprehensive character class system, allowing players to recruit companions and customize their roles and skills to suit different strategies.
