Since its release, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has faced criticism regarding its optimization, leading to crashes and FPS drops for a multitude of players. Discover different methods to try to overcome these obstacles and enjoy a smooth gaming experience on PC.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was one of the most anticipated releases of 2024, with players eager to explore the open world and embark on a bunch of quests. However, the game’s launch was rocked by an influx of complaints from PC players regarding its optimization.

This is because many PC gamers are affected by low FPS and choppy gameplay. Although the developers have assured players that they are working on the issue, the optimization might take some time to reach their hands.

So here is how to fix low FPS, crashing and crashing issues in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to improve FPS and fix crashes & crashes

Update your graphics driver

Perhaps the most important step before launching a recent title like Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to update your graphics driver. Many times, gamers tend to ignore their driver version and try to run games with an outdated driver.

By doing so, players may experience poor performance. So it is highly recommended to check your driver version, make sure to update it to its latest version and then launch the game.

Use optimized settings

Using optimized graphics settings in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a very important step, as many players are quite unhappy with the optimization in the game. Even though you might have a powerful graphics card like an RTX 4080 or RX 7900XTX, you should still use the best possible PC settings to get the most frames per second.

However, keep in mind that you’ll still get occasional stuttering and drops in frames per second in the wild and Capcom has promised to look into this as quickly as possible. Lowering the resolution and graphics settings might not be enough before the first patch arrives.

Make sure to use DLSS/FSR

Many people might prefer not to use supersampling in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to preserve quality, but that wouldn’t be a wise decision if you want good performance.

Depending on your graphics card, DLSS (Nvidia) or FSR (AMD) could significantly improve total frames per second. We recommend using the “Performance” super sampling mode in the menu for the best results.

Kill NPCs

The sheer number of NPCs generated in Dragon’s Dogma 2 may prove too demanding on your graphics card. This is why it could harm the number of frames per second. However, many players have found a solution, and it involves slaughtering NPCs to gain a performance boost in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

As previously mentioned, Capcom is aware of the issue and is working to resolve them. Until the developers release an official patch, the situation is unlikely to be fully resolved for all PC users.
