Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to unlock the Knight-Mage class

Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers many classes, but the Mage Knight might be the best of them. So here’s how you can unlock it.

The Knight-Mage is accessible quite early in the game and is one of the first Advanced Classes you can unlock in Dragon’s Dogma 2. With a well-thought-out strategy, it is possible to unlock the Knight-Mage class in around five hours of gameplay. Based on my own experience, opting for this class from the start of the game is wise, as it greatly enriches the experience of game.

If, like us, you saw the pre-release footage and thought “I want to be a super cool Jedi”, this class will definitely live up to your expectations. The class is taught to you by an NPC called Sigurd, but he can be difficult to encounter without a little planning.

So here is a step-by-step guide to unlocking the Knight-Mage in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

The Knight-Mage has the greatest style potential, making it the best class in Dragon’s Dogma 2 by default.

Prerequisites to unlock the Knight-Mage

To learn the Knight-Mage class, you will need to go to Vernworth and contact Brant. He will offer you three quests to complete and you will need to complete at least one for the class to become available.

You will then have to go to the village of Harve and find the character Sigurd, the Knight-Mage who will allow you to unlock the class.

To finally unlock the Knight-Mage class, you must travel to Melve after completing one of Brant’s quests. When you arrive, a sickly-looking dragon covered in pustules will attack the city.

Hunt the dragon by climbing on it and attacking these pustules. During this fight, you will notice a Knight-Mage assisting you. This is Sigurd and he is the Master of the Knight-Mage class. You will recognize him thanks to his double blade and his red and black outfit.

After the battle, you can talk to Sigurd and tell him about his fighting style. Use this dialogue and you will unlock his class. Unfortunately, if you’re not quick enough, Sigurd will leave town and you’ll have to put in more effort.

Where to find Sigurd in Dragon’s Dogma 2

If you don’t speak to Sigurd immediately after chasing the Dragon, he will then go to his home. You can find Sigurd’s house in Harve Village.

Sigurd lives in the eastern part of Harve Village, in the last house on the road overlooking the sea. Talk to him here and you will unlock the Knight-Mage class.
