After causing a DUI accident, Kim Sae-ron expressed her remorse by stating, “I deeply regret my actions while under the influence. My actions caused harm to numerous individuals, including business owners and members of the public. I should have been more cautious and responsible, but I failed to do so. I am currently working with my company to rectify the situation and I will make every effort to communicate and resolve the matter until it is resolved.”Following her apology, she took time to reflect on her actions.

During her time of self-reflection, Kim Sae-ron faced doubts about her genuineness because of her birthday party which had an alcohol theme. Additionally, there were disputes surrounding her declarations of financial struggles and working part-time positions. Recently, it was disclosed that Kim Sae-ron is actually teaching acting to novice and hopeful actors, rather than being employed at a café as previously stated.

Kim Sae-ron has recently returned to acting after a hiatus of about three years since her last project, “Drama Special – The Palace”(2021). Following a period of self-reflection after a drunk driving controversy, she took a break from the industry for about two years. During this time, she did make an appearance in Netflix’s “Bloodhounds”, but her scenes were mostly cut due to the impact of the drunk driving incident.

The play “Dongchimi”follows the story of a family consisting of a practical father, a selfless mother, and three siblings who struggle with their duties to their parents and with each other. The production will be showcased at CTS Art Hall in Noryangjin-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul from May 3rd to 12th.
