Dungeon People anime confirms July 2024 release date in new PV

On Friday, May 24, 2024, a new commercial was streamed on the official website for the television anime Dungeon People, confirming its debut on Friday, July 5, 2024 in Japan. The trailer also revealed the channels in which the series will be airing in Japan, but there is no confirmation yet on international streaming availability. This information remains unknown at this time.

The Dungeon People anime had already unveiled a key visual and announced the main cast and staff for the series, and the latest trailer does not offer any additional information apart from the release date.

It is anticipated that important details about the series, such as the opening and ending theme songs and their respective artists, will be announced in the weeks before the series’ debut.

The television anime adaptation of the original manga series, The Dungeon People, is based on the work of author and illustrator Sui Hutami. The manga was first serialized on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action publication website in June 2020.

The series has currently been compiled into four volumes, and a fifth volume is scheduled to be released in Japan in June 2024. Out of the four volumes that have been published, three have also been translated into English.

As stated earlier, the cast list for the Dungeon People anime had already been revealed before the release of this latest promotional video.

Although the character name romanizations have not been officially announced, the current cast includes Sayaka Senbongi as Clay, Sayumi Suzushiro as Belle, Naomi Kusumi as Rangado, Nobuo Tobita as the Old Master, Hochu Ohtsuka as Renfringe, and MAO as Furin.

Sayaka Yamai is leading the production of the anime series at OLM (formerly Oriental Light & Magic) studios, with Toshimitsu Takeuchi overseeing the writing of the series. The characters for the anime are being designed by Hiromi Nakayama, and the music is being composed by Pieru and LASTorder at U’s Music. Yayoi Tateishi is serving as the sound director for the series at Bushiroad Move.

Seven Seas Entertainment, the publisher of the aforementioned original manga series in English, will be releasing the translated fourth volume on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. According to Seven Seas Entertainment, the story is described as follows:

“Clay was trained by her father to be an expert member of the thieves’ guild. Since her father disappeared three years ago, she’s been using her skills to search for him in a dungeon filled with goblins, a Minotaur, and all manner of other dangerous creatures.

“When Clay reaches deeper than anyone ever has before, she meets the caretaker of the dungeon. To her surprise, Clay is invited to join the staff! And thus begins Clay’s new job–to learn the inner workings and behind-the-scenes secrets of the dungeon from the inside.”
