Sui Futami’s Dungeon naka no Hito is a Japanese manga that has been serialized on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action website since June 2020. As of August 2023, the manga has been compiled into four volumes. Shortly after, OLM started producing an anime adaptation of the manga.

What is the premise of the Dungeon People anime?
“Dungeon naka no Hito tells the tale of Clay, a thief girl who was raised by her father to become a formidable member of the thieves’ guild. However, after her father disappeared while exploring a dungeon, Clay dedicated herself to becoming even stronger. Three years later, she ventured into the dungeon in search of any leads on her father’s whereabouts.”
Despite being on an adventure, Clay successfully made it to the ninth floor, a feat that had not been accomplished by anyone else before. As she navigated through the dungeon with caution, she came face to face with a terrifying monster. Their intense battle caused a wall in the dungeon to crumble, ultimately setting the foundation for the anime’s plot.
The “behind-the-scenes”area of the dungeon, where people worked and lived, was exposed when the wall collapsed. It was there that Clay encountered the dungeon’s administrator, Beilleheila Landass, also known as Belle. Belle offered Clay a job to work in the dungeon, which she accepted despite her initial reluctance, thanks to the competitive salary it offered.
