EA Empowers Sims 4 Content Creators to Develop Official Kits

As highlighted in a recent blog post, EA is empowering The Sims 4 custom content creators to develop their own Kits that will be officially released by the team. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting development.

For some time now, EA has collaborated with well-known community members to produce various Kits for The Sims 4. However, according to the announcement, these Kits are about to expand significantly. The company plans to allow custom content creators to design a “full collection of in-game assets” that will receive official publication from the development team.

The developers stated: “Creativity has long been a core value for The Sims franchise, and we obsess over seeing and showcasing the incredible talent and artistry that lives within our tight-knit community.”

They added, “This push to expand the ways we support creators has led us to The Sims 4 Creator Kits. These kits are designed and built by community creators to introduce new collections featuring unique styles and fresh storytelling potential.”

The rollout of these Creator Kits is set to begin in November 2024, with EA confirming that they will coexist alongside the existing Kits in the game. Like other content packs, these will be available for players across all gaming platforms.

EA describes this initiative as a “big step forward” in providing “creator-made content that’s console-friendly,” and has assured its audience that the kits will be “curated with safeguards,” enabling players to enhance their gaming experience with additional styles and aesthetic features.

As for pricing, EA has not disclosed the costs or clarified if they will differ from standard Kits. However, it is reasonable to anticipate that the price will be similar, likely around $5 USD or the equivalent in other currencies. We will keep you informed as more details emerge.

In addition to this announcement, it’s important to note that The Sims 5 will not be released, though this news isn’t necessarily negative.
