EA FC 24 players speak out against $165 FC Points bundle

EA has recently unveiled a $165 bundle for FC Points, which provides players with 50% more points than the $112 option. However, some players are voicing concerns that this bundle is not suitable for EA FC 24.

In the Football Ultimate Team game mode by EA Sports FC, Points serve as a digital currency for buying packs. This allows players to obtain higher quality cards, which can either be traded or added to their team. Consequently, certain individuals argue that the pay-to-win aspect of the game mode is evident as spending more money results in having a stronger team.

EA has only made things worse by continuing to push micro-transactions. In EA FC 24, players were charged up to $54 USD for individual packs. Additionally, there have been rumors that FC 25 will introduce a paid premium pass, which had been included for free in previous installments.

Critics have heavily criticized the choice to restrict player cards and packs behind a payment barrier, with many expressing disappointment upon logging in and encountering the new FC Points bundle.

FC 24 content creator Nepenthez shared a photo of the recently released bundle and expressed his opinion that offering the points for £130(£117) as a single bundle is unreasonable.

“It’s outrageous that the game costs £99 and now they’re offering a £130 FP Bundle,”one player remarked. “This clearly shows their disregard for the community. It’s all about greed and making more money.”

This franchise’s practice of releasing a special $99.99 edition every year does not sit well with members of the community.

“The practice of in-game purchases should never exceed the cost of the game itself. A second user expressed their disgust with the direction this company is taking the game, stating, “I despise everything about it.”

Despite being the most notable, FC is not the only EA franchise experiencing an increase in micro-transactions. On July 24, Respawn Entertainment reversed their decision to prevent players from purchasing the Battle Pass with Apex Coins, forcing all players to make a monetary investment.

Similarly, Madden is also affected by these aforementioned issues.

“I have been cautioning my viewers about this since last August. I first encountered it in Madden 24, a game I frequently played, and predicted that it would eventually make its way into FC,”stated a third user.

The boiling point has been reached by players, making it evident that they are frustrated.
