For the upcoming EA FC 25, EA Sports made changes to player ratings based on their performances in the 2023/24 season. While some changes were minor, a few notable players saw significant rating increases that are worth noting.
Both age and performance play a role in determining player ratings in FC 25. As seasoned players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar near the end of their careers, it is now the opportune moment to hand over the reins to the up-and-coming generation of superstars.
The trend is evident in the current player ratings, with young and rising players receiving significant upgrades while older players had their statistics reduced.
Biggest Upgrades in EA FC 25
PLAYER NAME | CLUB | POSITION | UPGRADE | RATING |
---|---|---|---|---|
Cole Palmer | Chelsea | CAM | +19 | 85 |
Kobbie Mainoo | Manchester United | CM | +17 | 79 |
Savio | Manchester City | RM | +12 | 82 |
Arten Dovbyk | Girona | ST | +12 | 82 |
Victor Boniface | Bayer Leverkusen | ST | +9 | 83 |
Viktor Gyokeres | Sporting CP | ST | +9 | 84 |
Nico Williams | Atheltic Bilbao | LM | +6 | 85 |
Cole Palmer received a major upgrade in FC history, increasing his overall rating from 66 to 85. In his first season at Chelsea, Palmer was a standout player with 22 goals and 11 assists. He was recognized for his exceptional performance with a PFA Young Player of The Year award and a memorable run at the Euros. At only 22 years old, he has become one of the most thrilling Premier League players.
Likewise, 19-year-old Kobbie Mainoo proved to be a vital member of Manchester United’s midfield during the previous season, earning him a significant role on the England team during the Euros. As we enter 2024, Mainoo remains an essential player on the squad and fans have high expectations for another outstanding season from him.
Despite Harry Kane’s impressive 36-goal tally, there were also other outstanding strikers in European leagues. Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres scored 29 goals and Girona’s Artem Dovbyk netted 24, both earning substantial upgrades.
Biggest Downgrades
PLAYER NAME | CLUB | POSITION | DOWNGRADE | RATING |
---|---|---|---|---|
Matheus Nunes | Manchester City | CM | -14 | 65 |
Jamie Vardy | Leicester | ST | -7 | 78 |
Marcus Rashford | Manchester United | LM | -4 | 81 |
Casemiro | Manchester United | CDM | -5 | 84 |
Despite scoring 17 goals and recording five assists in the 2022/23 season, fans were disappointed with Marcus Rashford’s performance last year. He only managed to score seven goals and was not selected for England’s Euros squad. As a result, EA gave him a four-point downgrade.
At 37 years old, Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy is still revered as one of England’s most reliable strikers. However, as he enters the twilight of his career, his age became apparent last season in the Championship, where he managed to score only three goals in 37 matches.
Despite having won a total of 18 trophies, which includes five Champions League and three La Liga titles, Casemiro is known for being a consistent winner and for effectively shutting down opposing offenses for many years. However, similar to Vardy, the hardworking Brazilian midfielder has started to show signs of slowing down. This is particularly evident in the fact that EA has reduced his pace by 25 points, making him one of the slowest players in the history of FC.
