EA FC 25’s release date is just around the corner, and like every new installment, EA Sports’ football series is introducing exciting features that players should be aware of before diving in.
This year, EA FC 25 highlights two main features: RUSH and FC IQ, impacting all modes. Each mode will also see unique tweaks, additions, and overall improvements, making this release one to look forward to.
Ultimate Team
Ultimate Team allows players to build their dream squad with current football stars and past icons, competing against others or going solo in single-player mode.
One of the most captivating elements of FUT is the challenges that offer rewards through opening packs filled with random items, including player cards, stadium customizations, kits, balls, and consumables.
Rush
This new 5v5 experience in Ultimate Team will have players selecting events with unique rules, adding complexity to squad-building. Players will earn Rush Points for winning matches.
Entry requirements for events are based on rarity, attributes, regions, leagues, or clubs, allowing for quicker progression toward weekly Rush Objectives.
In the squad building screen, players have 90 seconds to choose their players, ensuring no duplicates are allowed on the same team to encourage variety.
Stadium & Match Experience
Numerous stadiums have been revamped for EA FC 25, including Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park, along with new debuts like River Plate’s Mâs Monumental.
New broadcast sequences and presentation elements will enhance matches by highlighting team details and lineup decisions.
A new state-of-the-art stadium exclusive to FUT will debut this year, complete with customizable features suitable for larger crowds.
Cosmetic Evolutions
Players in EA FC 25 can now customize their characters even more with Cosmetic Evolutions. This includes altering player items, adding animations, and even sound effects, contributing to a more personalized experience.
Evolution Requirements
While Evolutions in EA FC 24 were limited by strict entry requirements, FC 25 aims to offer more flexibility, allowing players to use various players for each evolution.
Evolutions will have a maximum limit on certain Attributes, but players who meet or exceed this limit will still earn the Evolution, although the upgrade will shift to another Attribute.
SBC Storage
EA FC 25 introduces a storage system for Untradeable Duplicate Players in Ultimate Team, meaning players won’t have to discard duplicates immediately.
Players can store up to 100 Untradeable items in the new SBC Storage, accessible via the SBC Storage tab, and those using the FC Companion App will also be able to manage items.
Friendlies & Contracts
Live Friendlies and Rivals matchmaking are now decoupled, with Friendlies based strictly on form, mirroring FUT Champions. Player & manager contracts have also been removed for a smoother experience.
Division Rivals Improvements
Division Rivals will now feature a reward system based on points instead of wins, encouraging players to participate without being penalized for losses. Points will be awarded as follows:
- Win: 3 points
- Draw: 1 point
- Lose: 0 points
The number of checkpoints required to advance to a new Division is reduced, Seasonal Milestone rewards are eliminated, and relegations have returned.
Players will begin in a Division relative to their performance in EA FC 24, rather than starting from Division 10.
Career Mode
Career Mode in EA FC 25 allows players to embark on two journeys: as a Player or a Manager. You can play through multiple seasons and leagues while striving for global excellence.
As a player, you can customize your avatar’s appearance, position, and playstyle. Your match performance influences contract offers and your path to stardom.
As a manager, you’ll oversee the team’s operations, including scouting, recruitment, training, and budgets.
Live Start Points
This new feature in Career Mode lets players immerse themselves in real-world football by experiencing key events from the ongoing 24/25 season across ten leagues and twelve cup competitions.
Live Start Points will reflect current standings, player form, transfers, and other relevant events.
Women’s Teams
For the first time, EA FC 25 includes a Manager Career mode for women’s leagues including the Barclays Women’s Super League and National Women’s Soccer League.
This mode includes all features of the standard, like player management and unique challenges in women’s football, along with the ability to start a Player Career in women’s leagues.
Development Plans 2.0
With FC IQ introducing Player Roles, each Role now has a Development Plan. If players consistently enhance key Attributes, they can trigger Role ratings for further growth.
The plans categorize player stages as Growth, Peak, or Retiring, aiding managers in scouting and development.
Press Conferences & Morale
Press Conference questions in EA FC 25 are revamped to address tactics, opponent setups, and match stats. The morale system is also enhanced; low morale leads to reduced mental Attributes, requiring managers to maintain player satisfaction.
Youth Academy
Scouting capabilities have expanded to over 160 countries, allowing scouts to search for talent across specific positions and roles.
Rush
Rush in Career Mode allows engagement in 5v5 matches with Youth Players, utilizing their Overall and Potential Ratings to gauge performance.
These bi-monthly tournaments will significantly impact Youth Players’ growth, enabling faster Rating increases, with visual representations of their development over time.
Customization
Player feedback has led to more control over game settings. Players can now adjust transfer negotiations, board expectations, and training recovery rates to increase difficulty.
Player customization allows for more realistic avatars through Cranium Technology.
Menu Visuals, Match Intros & Social Media
To streamline Career Mode, EA FC 25 introduces a Tasks List that outlines pending actions. The return of authentic pre-match intros and an in-game Social Media platform enhances the immersive experience.
ICONs
Explore how legendary players, like Beckham, perform today through ICONs, allowing players to incorporate football legends into Player Career.
Player Origins
New Origin Stories in Player Career let users choose from three paths, each with unique benefits, shaping the early stages of their careers:
- Great Expectations: Play as a child prodigy from a legendary football family.
- Climb to the Top: Start your journey from humble beginnings with aspirations of greatness.
- Return to Glory: Be a former top-class player making a comeback after an injury.
Custom Start conditions are also available for added personalization.
Clubs
In Clubs mode, players create a Virtual Pro Player to engage in online matches and pursue leaderboard supremacy alongside friends.
Customizations include avatar attributes like gender, height, and style, coupled with club building to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse serves as a social hub for players to connect and customize their Club identity, including Crests, Kits, and Stadiums for an authentic feel.
Clubs Rush
Clubs also feature Rush, enabling solo or group play, where players can engage in matches with AI-managed goalkeepers, competing for Rank Points based on their performances.
Victory Points are earned for match wins and will influence global rankings at the season’s end.
Facilities
Clubs mode now includes Facilities management, where players can hire staff and build training rooms, with upgrades improving Attributes for all team members.
Tied to budget constraints, growing Club popularity increases available funding for enhancements.
League Relegation
Relegation returns to Clubs, introducing a new system to mitigate risks. Clubs receive several chances to avoid relegation, facing off in a decisive Relegation Battle once chances run out.
The matches will be against clubs of similar skill, securing divisional status upon victory.
Cosmetics, Customization & Club Store
Alongside new Cranium Technology for realistic avatars, players can explore a plethora of cosmetics in the Club Store, enhancing their Club’s atmosphere with Stadium Bundles, Club Kits, and Trophies, all purchased with Club Coins earned through gameplay.
Height, Matchmaking & More
EA Sports has made small adjustments to improve balance in Clubs, including a maximum height for Virtual Pros of 6’5″ and enhanced goalkeeper attributes for better match experiences.
Matchmaking will now prioritize finding clubs with similar Skill Ratings, and players can use pre-defined messages during matches via Quick Chat.
These are the significant changes coming to EA FC 25’s game modes. While the top 50 players have been revealed, players should also keep an eye out for hidden stars among the fastest and most promising loan players before assembling their ideal team.
