An EA FC 25 bug has introduced a dark mode feature, but it’s not what players expected, as it causes the screen to turn completely black.
We are just moments away from the full release of EA FC 25, with many players already experiencing the game through early access, diving into yet another year of Ultimate Team.
However, being at the beginning of the game’s lifecycle, it’s evident that a variety of bugs will emerge. One particularly notable bug turns the player’s screen black.
This peculiar issue was encountered by EA FC streamer NickRTFM, during a gameplay session where the bug effectively activated dark mode, making the game nearly unplayable.
While attempting the Chip Shot challenge in Ultimate Team, Nick initially struggled and upon restarting, was met with a completely black screen.
Though the HUD remained visible—showing the mini-map, score, timer, player names, and challenge objectives—the actual gameplay was rendered entirely black.
“Oh hell nah, another year of this?” Nick exclaimed upon discovering the bug. “EA, you all had one job, man. What is going on here?”
The only workaround for this issue was to enter the settings and then exit, which allowed the game to return to its normal display.
“I can’t believe it’s a black screen, bro, on day one? Come on,” Nick laughed off the bug after finishing the challenge.
Given that the game is in its early stages, players can expect to encounter several bugs during their gaming experience. Fortunately, this one was relatively easy to resolve.
This is not the first instance where an EA FC title has launched with a myriad of bugs; players voiced their frustrations during the launch of EA FC 24, which also faced significant issues.
