Things don’t always go according to plan in EA FC 25, and the commentators are quick to highlight your mistakes. However, there is a hidden feature that you can enable to prevent them from criticizing you at every turn.
We’ve all experienced a downturn in performance in EA FC at some point, whether it’s a series of losses in Division Rivals or a Career Mode that seems to hit a snag. No one is more aware than you when your gameplay falters, yet Derek Rae and his fellow commentators are always ready to point it out.
If you’re anything like me, this can lead to some frustration directed at the commentators. Luckily, you can alleviate this annoyance by activating the “Disable Critical Commentary” option.
This lesser-known feature is found within the Audio Settings, allowing the commentary team to tone down their harsh analysis while still preserving the overall commentary experience.
When you enable the Disable Critical Commentary feature, you can play without the worry of Sue Smith, Stewart Robson, or the other commentators chastising you for a missed opportunity or a goal conceded. If things start to go awry, their commentary remains subdued until there’s a relevant moment to discuss.
Even though they won’t critique your errors, they still deliver engaging commentary that enhances the authenticity of each match, and they will commend you when you execute well-timed tackles or score impressive goals.
After testing this feature in several games of EA FC 25, I found it strikes a great balance by minimizing negativity without coming off as overly condescending. The commentary team continues to recognize missed opportunities but avoids labeling a shot as “terrible.”
For those who often find themselves disheartened by the in-game commentary, enabling this feature in Career Mode, Ultimate Team, or even Pro Clubs is definitely worthwhile.
