Popular streamer BorasLegend has highlighted some “significant issues” with the gameplay of EA FC 25 early on, urging developers to implement fixes, particularly for passing mechanics and to nerf some of the most effective tactics.
EA FC 25 hasn’t dramatically altered its gameplay this year, featuring only a handful of major adjustments on the pitch. Nonetheless, the changes introduced have reshaped the meta in this season’s Ultimate Team.
However, there are many players dissatisfied with the current match experience. EA SPORTS FC streamer and former FIFA pro BorasLegend has criticized the gameplay in higher ranks of Division Rivals, describing the matches as repetitive and calling for adjustments to the passing system.
“FC 25 has some huge issues at the moment. Animations are soooo delayed and slow. Can’t left stick, can’t string passes, first touches are pure horror,” he stated in an X post. “The only thing you see in higher divisions is L1-boost spam and Trivelas. This is not variation. A significant patch is required.”
He followed up with another post addressing the defending aspect, expressing that players face minimal challenges in preventing opponents from scoring:
“All this while defensive AI is stronger than ever. Automatic tackles and offside traps can turn almost anyone into prime Maldini behind the sticks.”

The new speed boost mechanic has shown to be quite overpowered, allowing players to swiftly evade defenders. Trivelas, which involve curling shots with the outside of the foot, have also gained popularity, leaving goalkeepers struggling to react.
Numerous players have echoed BorasLegend’s sentiments, labeling the gameplay in EA FC 25 a “shambles” and arguing that it makes Division Rivals nearly impossible at higher ranks.
“I couldn’t agree more! This game has started worse than EA FC 24,” remarked one user, while another commented: “And we have to achieve 15 rivals wins, which is incredibly challenging with this poor gameplay.”
While the majority agree that the speed boost and Trivelas are excessively powerful, some players appreciate the tweaks made to passing, claiming it brings the game closer to the experience of real football.
“I agree with everything except for the passing comments; I don’t want to see players pinging first-time passes from box to box at any moment in this game,” added another response. “Let’s leave that in the PS3 era, in my opinion.”
EA SPORTS has rolled out several updates since the launch of EA FC 25, yet most have primarily tackled glitches and bugs. If player complaints continue to escalate, particularly with the FUT Champs set to begin on October 4, it wouldn’t be surprising to see further gameplay adjustments in the near future.
